Mitchell, Foley or Corey

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

Mitchell is a supurb player, still a fair bit ahead of Foley and Corey, Mitchell is going to go close to a Brownlow this year and will almost definetly be AA.

Foley would be next, he is elite, fast, can break tackles, is starting to break tags, can kick goals and racks up the disposals and hard ball gets like noone else, great player.

Corey I think is being helped by a fantastic Geelong midfield, he does do his own work, but I think he would be less rated if Geelong were doing worse.
Anyone who doesnt say Corey doesnt watch the game. End of story

Not being biased but why at this current stage is Mitchel 2nd. He is daylights ahead of the other 2 and anyone who knows anything about football will know this.

Hard one.

Mitchell's in the top few Midfielders going around + plays for Hawthorn.

Corey's been my favourite player outside of Hawthorn after my discovering him a few years ago for my DT.

Foley's improving every game, showing a hell of a lot and seems set to force himself into the elite midfielder range.

And that's how my order would be, for now. Mitchell's better then Corey, both have the runs on the board. Foley should eventually overtake Corey, but I doubt he'll end up being considered a better player then Mitchell.

As much as I love Corey for his stat-getting ability, he just turns it over far too much. Or at least his turn overs bloody stand out.

His handball work is damn good though.

Another cocky Geelong supporter who puts words in everyone's mouths. FYI I do not think Hawks will win the premiership and I do not think your side will either because I would say your side is the worst side in recent history to go 7-0 at the start of the season. Your brilliant don't get me wrong but not anywhere near as dominate as last season.

Nobody is clearly better than the other.

As much as I love Foley, Mitchell is currently the slightly better player. He may not be able to break the lines or win a centre clearance, burst forward and kick a running goal... but he does everything else Foley can do and averages slightly higher in most categories.

Corey is an awesome player too but he is only equal with Mitchell/Foley despite having Ablett, Selwood, Ling, Bartel etc assisting him.

I mean, look how crap the West Coast midfielders are now that Judd and Cousins has gone. Corey is great but Geelong would be a better team with Mitchell or Foley in their side.

So the poll appears to be 100% accurate IMO.

Mitchell is clearly better than Foley. Without a shadow of a doubt. Not slightly, but clearly.
Corey is also clearly better IMO. That's not to denigrate Foley, who is an emerging gun, but he's not at the level of other two.

read his sentence properly you muppets

it read: or win a centre clearance, burst forward and kick a running goal...

of course he wins centre clearances more than anyone (except for foley l;ast year ;)) he meant it in the context of winning it AND bursting through the centre to kick a goal

get it? :o

Mitchell- 0.2 goals per game.
Foley- 0.3 goals per game.

dear me

im simply pointing out that HE STATED you dont see mitchell win the ball, get on his bike and plonk it from 50,

does he? No so wtf is wrong with you peanuts?
is he saying he cant win a ball? NO,
is he saying he cant kick a goal? NO
hes just saying he doesnt have that burst to win it and burst through the centre and kick it from 50 ala Judd/Foley.

Do you get it now einstein?

yes micthell is the better player i have no qualms about that, (i dont think many do) im just trying to clear up something for you dumb as dogs.hit hawks fans who cant read a sentence.

And WTF difference does that make, provided we take the word of you two clowns, and assume that he doesn't do that?

Do those goals get you more than the standard 6 points? We've established so far...Mitch is winning significantly more clearances, kicking (virtually) the same amount of goals; the problem though is that he doesn't (so you say) kick them "on the burst from 50".

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Nice one, douchebag.:thumbsu:

No they dont but they show that one can break lines the other cant (which is what the original poster was trying to explain to dumbc.unts like you) or are you stating that they both have the same scintillating pace you stupid pr.ick?

If that was the issue, why not just come out and say it? He's quicker. That wasn't that hard.

You're quite an angry little boy aren't you? I'd be surprised if there weren't repercussions for using such a word.
Enjoy, tough guy.:thumbsu:

Yeh, I stopped reading here.

He is only averaging 2 more clearances a game than Corey and 3 more than Foley.

Hahaha oh cmon guys I made a good post detailing why Mitchell was better than Foley so at least read it correctly! :p

I believe they are similar players. Both can't kick huge distance, both excellent in clearances and doing the tough stuff, highly respected and great with their hands.

Mitchell is slightly better than Foley in every category IMO.

My point was: the only part of Foley's game that is clearly better than Mitchell's is his ability to win a clearance and use his acceleration and pace to burst forward and kick a goal, or set one up.

Foley doesn't do this enough yet to justify being a better player than Mitchell, but if he can start playing more like Judd (which he publicly admits he is training towards) by using this pace to be more damaging, then I might have to reassess my decision to pick Mitchell.

Foley's game against Collingwood last year was unbelievable, clearance after clearance bursting towards goal! It was AS GOOD as Chris Judd at times, it just doesn't happen consistently yet.

He is consistent in every other category :thumbsu:

Clearly its Foley anyone that has to work in the midfield with that ******* Johnson (whats with all the over the head handballs kane?? are you trying to make people hate you) and still be a talent deserves kudos
id take mitchell over corey but i reckon both of them rely heavily on others..mitchell on sewell and corey on the geelong midfield

Mitchell is best comfortably, Foley still hasn't got the hang of breaking a tag yet, hopefully will develop it next year which will pull him up to a similar level of Mitchell and Corey is just helped by the awsome Geelong midfield.
