The Mets add David Robertson to their bullpen, coming to terms with the reliever on a one-year, $10 million contract, per Jeff Passan.

The Cincinnati Reds announced that they had signed reliever Silvino Bracho to a minor league deal with an invitation to Spring Training, after Bracho was non-tendered by the Braves. He made his MLB debut back in 2015 for the Diamondbacks, and played until he had to undergo Tommy John surgery in 2019. He made one combined appearance between 2019 and 2020 and was released by the Diamondbacks. He did not play in the majors in 2021, and signed a minor league deal with the Red Sox in the offseason. He pitched 31 1/3 innings in Triple A before being promoted by the Red Sox to the majors. Before he could make his debut for the Red Sox, he was designated for assignment and traded to the Braves in exchange for cash considerations. The Braves had him pitch just 4 1/3 innings in three appearances for the Braves, giving up three earned runs.

I love listening to Sarah Langs on the Baseball Tonight and Oakland A's cast podcasts. Here's a story about Sarah Langs and her recent ALS diagnosis from the NY Post.

Thats sad to get it at such a young age, positive attitude though which is good

“There’s a ton of talent still to be added and then the trade market really opens up in earnest after the big free agents are gone,” Cubs president of business operations Crane Kenney said on the Mully & Haugh Show on Friday morning.”

Still not ready to sit at the big boy table, I see. Lovely!

The Blue Jays have reached an agreement with Kevin Kiermaier to add the longtime Rays cornerstone to their new-look outfield, sources told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand and Juan Toribio on Saturday.

Japanese players do seem to love getting bent over a barrel in contract negotiations. Not quite as obscene as Ohtani's initial contract with the Angels, though

That one is crazy. Had Ohtani waited only two years before coming over when he was 25, he could have got seriously paid. Over $200M were the estimates. Instead he came over at 23 and between his salary and signing bonus, he’s making about $10M over the course of his contract with the Angels.

He will net himself a $300+M contract when he’s a FA but imagine the alternate reality if he came over and doesn’t dominate as he has. What a risky move it was.

Cos the Mets are so far over the cap his 15 mil a deal is actually 28.5 mil with luxury tax

They removed the draft pick penalties for going too many years over the tax so of course when a moneybags owner like Cohen comes in there's little deterrent on spending.
