More like Adam and Troy.

Strange... Weaver said that he was more of a bullocking in and under grunt midfielder? Seems exactly what Collingwood need.... along with a ruckman

9. Scott Selwood (HBF / Rover)
A much blunter weapon than Joel. Scott is a blue-collar grunt who knocks people over and runs through packs. Plays a little too much on HBF for my taste but his stints in the centre have been encouraging. Probably doesn't run and carry enough - when he does it is because people have jumped out of his way. Shapes as a Daniel Harris type, one-paced inside thug who can lockdown opponents, cruch packs and get the ball going forward.

Is scott selwood another in and under player like joel? or more outsideish running back like troy and adam?

Also who are the top ruckman and inside mids in the draft?

Certainly wouldn't call Troy an outsideish type.
In fact he is the complete opposite, not many more in & under at the Lions than him.

Really don't what to believe. Worries me if ppl think he is like Troy & then call him an outside type.
By Weavers comments I would say he is more a Troy type, but possibly more damaging with the pill & may have the body that suits that type of game more than Troy.

Scotty Selwood is a bash n crash back flanker. I'd love him at Brisbane. :thumbsu:

I don't know if he is bash n crash back flanker, but he certainly does go in and get the ball. Uses it well, and his decision making off HB is pretty solid as well. Agree with Weaver on one point though, and would like to see him play more through the midfield.

John shaw is a gun ruckman and will go high in the draft plays at sandy

been playing VERY well at sandy. Averaging 37 hit outs for the past 3 weeks. not only does the big fella win the hit outs, his efforts around the ground are amazing, often racking up a few touches. but what makes him even more appealing is that he averages about 8 tackles a game! - amazing for a ruckman. this guy could solve ruck problems at clubs such as richmond or carlton. very good looking for the draft. too bad he's in such a sh!t-house team lol

Smokeys that could go:

Notte (Needs time but if puts on weight could go with anyone)

Jackey (Skills Galore)

Ellard (Very skilled foward pocket rate him over little guys that get drafted like Sampi and Rodan)

/QUOTE]

NOtte and Jackey are not roughies IMO. Will be very surprised if they do not get picked up.

With Caulfield Grammar winning the APS premiership this year, alot of people have been down to watch them, alot of recruiters. can anyone tell me info or what your opinons are on these kids and if they have a chance at the big time?
Hugh Sandilands
Tom Sundberg
Clay Johnston
Jack Ziebel
Zac Sengstock
cheers in advance

I thought that Weavers description decribed him as player who runs through packs and is blunter than Joel. He didnt say he was in and under. Scott gets the footy a lot at half back and becasue of his decent size he just runs at guys and bowls them over.
He isnt really like Joel at all.

hugh sandilands will probably go top 30 or 40. if tommy sundgerg does end up at a team next year he will be rookie listed or have gone above 50 or 60. very overrated IMO. ziebell will go top 20 probably in the 2009 draft. dont kno much about sengstock or johnston so i cudnt tell ya

Only player who will get drafted in that list is Hugh Sandilands, and he is only a maybe.

Great Start and sure to create conversation. But this is the easy part, the first 25. Try picking 26 - 50 , that's harder than Soduku. 3 other Canons in the latter mix would possibly be Putt, Polkinghorne and Arrowsmith.
Impacting TAC finals for either of these may sneak one or more into your top 25. Fully agree on your 4 Knights players in top 12. What odds these 4 in top 10 ???

Wouldn't Levi Greenwood be a bit short and stocky to be a top ten pick?

cyril wont slip past essendons hands i dont rekon. i think where you've put collia is spot on, think he might have gone higher without this injury he's got now.

natanui isnt eligible this year haha. and he'll go higher than that come 2008 id say.

boys its all well and good trying to post a top 25 and what-not and you would nearly be spot on, but depending on where the ladder ends up, things may change. a west coast for instance isnt going to take cotchin (i know they wudnt be in cotention but im just using it as an example) - they alredy have enough midfielders (which are relatively young too). i think itll b more accurate to pick the top 25 once the seasons over. and i think you're a mad-man if you try and predict the draft picks from 26-50 and beyond as clubs will trade picks and therefore clubs will be looking for different kinds of players (mids, backs, forwards, and rucks). so lets all just wait and see hey? till then, im quite happy to go it free-for-all trying to guess whats gonna happen in the top 25. so keep goin guys.

Port's got a couple of very decent kids who can't break into the side... It's hard to see who they're going to delist this year (possibly Wakes and Mahony, but even that's not set in stone.)

I believe Port will trade hard for early draft picks to free up space on their list. And I reckon Adelaide will benefit from some of this. Maybe a player and first round pick swap.

There might also be some action with the Western Australian teams at the trade table.

Make no mistake, Port will do everything they can to get Ebert and Greenwood.

I think you are missing Chris Masten from East Fremantle. Also throw in Steven Browne from West Perth and Dave Gourdis from Subiaco. I also forgot Tayte Pears from East Perth (hopefully the Hawks pick this guy)
