He is 183 cm.
I'll still don't think he is best 22, he hasn't shown enough yet.

Shown enough? Our best runner on the senior list, consistently racks up possessions. Slips forward and kicks goals consistently and was not only one of our best in the GF, but throughout the final series. What more exactly do you feel he needs to do?

Pretty brave call to make after he's missed 3 full season of footy.
That comment was (I assume) in reference to Mzungu, as it is he that is 183, and it is I that mistakenly made the comment about him being 189cms. Of course Morra isn't best 22, that really had to be said?

he was referring to two different players in one post:
  • mzungu (183 cm)
  • mora (haven't showned enough)

I realise that now, but considering my post had not one mention of morra (despite being a Morrabito thread) I didn't click that he was posting about 2 people in the same post.

What people seem to forget with Mzungu is that he is a running machine. With the capped rotations he is going to be more important than ever- especially in the later part of the season and finals.

Agree with Gaskin, Mzungu's running in the midfield is so valuable.

On Mora, he did some special stuff in his first year -which is why he is loved so much. The long run and goal being most memorable.

I imagine the atmosphere will be electric at the ground when he runs out for the first time this season. The cheer might rival the pre-lim :p.

Mora looked great today and took a couple of marks below his knees. The club is reluctant to involve him in the full ground match sims.

If not now, when? 1+ year since a synthetic graft coupled with a grafted ACL. Not sure this slow a recovery has ever been undertaken. I guess they figure this is his last go, double the routine recovery time and see if he emerges out the other side.

Yes and the club will be confident they didn't waste another recovery.

Mora trained today, and did a keeping off type handball drill with four players around him.... Involves quite a lot of lateral movement and turning, seemed to get through it ok

last time people suggested we rushed him. I have no issue if we hold him back a month is we think it will give him a 1% better chance of playing out the year.

The club has been clear about minimising all risks during the rehab in order to maximise the chance of a successful long term come-back;they have been clear there is no time frame and that things can change. They were particularly focussed on emphasising the fact that The Emperor Penguin is integral to decision making regarding the entire 'shape and duration' of the process, this time much more so than before.RTB also said on a few occassions that the club wanted Anthony to provide the publicity statements with regard to his progress.
Given that context I'll assume that no significant setbacks equals successful rehab tracking along FINE and that he also takes delivery of the truckload of good fortune which he deserves.:thumbsu::thumbsu:

So which player in the team would he displace exactly? What position? What is his range of 'fringe' positions do you think he could play??

In what pathway do you guys see him returning as a regular 22??

He's a midfielder/utility. There doesn't need to be a specific position he replaces. It could be anywhere on the ground except ruck or full back.

Ross is on record as saying Mora will return on a Forward Flank. ( but that was 12 months ago ).
