Agreed but not everyone is Mandela
If George Bush can write a book about how he won on terror .
Watch this space for the review of Collins book about being the Emperor of Western Australia and how a shark hook bought him down

Thank god not everyone is Mandela. I'd rather not have a petrol-filled tyre around my neck.

I am very sure that Mandela never did anything like that. Think you will find that was his ex-wife Winnie.

The Sunday Times said as much as well with Moro , Silvia and Gumbelton possibly starting the season playing for PEEL
With our depth in midfielders Peel could finally play finals footy in the WAFL .
His story then went on to suggest Taberner , Apeness and Bradley would be playing for peel as well .
He's not been down to training if he thinks Gumbelton won't play in the first game of the season .

Pretty sure Gumbleton will be in the starting side come round 1

How was Mora's comeback form in the WAFL before he got injured again?

He certainly showed a class above when we was playing for Peel. Never tore a game apart however.

Id be very surprised if Gumby didnt start. We need to start planning for post Pav and he is part of those plans. The only hole in our team last season was another key tall up front and surely he would get first crack at trying to fill that void.

Guys for all the talk about our superior midfield ,I watched the Richmond game again on Fox and I have to say that we struggled without Sandi .
Griffith played real well and Barlow got a lot of the ball but we were beaten in the stoppages so if Moro is up and going he would add quite a bit .

That was the game Kepler did his knee ,Fyfe got reported and Hannath took the defensive mark in the dying minute of the match .
Johnson , Mcpharlin , Ibbotson , Clancee with Spurr stopped Richmond .
Ballas with 4 goals winning us the game .

Was that the game where Mundy's kicks were touched/intercepted a lot?

It didn't seem so.
Jack Hannath's debut with a strong mark on defensive flank in dying stages.
Jack Reiwoldt's petulance was in abundance as he believed they should have won. It was the game where the ball hit the goal umpire standing against the goal post.
Jon Griffin played a beauty.

If I remember correctly Ross accepted responsibility tactically for being beaten at the stoppages by Richmond. Something like Richmond were sliding a player out and that they needed to fix it.

Remember though that Richmond were absolutely up for this game, we had lost to Essendon at home and the Tiges really gave themselves a chance. It was these types of games that got us to the GF (mentally). The fact that we weren't on and still won is pretty impressive.

Indeed. I remember remarking to the folks around me in Block 313 that we absolutely had to win that game, especially due to the similar circumstances encountered against Essendon a couple of weeks prior.

In many ways, Round 5 was the pivot point of our entire 2013 season. It's easy to forget that we were 2-2 at the time, and had Richmond got up that night there is no chance in hell we would have played in the GF. Grinding out the win seemed to give the team the belief that carried them through the rest of the H&A season.

As for Morabito - like everyone, I hope his knees make it through 2014 unscathed, and that he is able to pull on the number 2 jumper in anger for Freo again. It's somewhat heartbreaking to note that he has never actually worn the chevrons in an AFL match, only the anchor...

WTF? o_O

He's worn our jumper, OUR jumper. And you think that's heart breaking?

Not at all, Reggie - I was merely noting that we've worn the newer (and incredibly plain IMO) chevron style jumper for three full seasons now, but Mora's last appearance was our last game in the traditional anchor design. This makes him the only one on our list aside from non-debutants to have only played in that particular jumper.

Well he's actually the only one period as non-debutants haven't played in that anchor.
