After the results of this weekend's matches, I've thought of some more positives following our loss to Brisbane last weekend.
1. Port lost.
2. We lost to Brisbane by 7 goals in Brisbane in 35 degree heat and Sydney lost to Brisbane by 7 goals in front of their own crowd and Sydney had the bye ( ie the match against Port in the finals) in the first week
3. Thinking about next year
a. Brisbane-won't make the GF 4 years in a row, players getting older
b. Collingwood-in for a bad draw from the AFL next year and difficult to make GF 3 years in a row
c. Port Adelaide-cannot win a final except against Essendon. Style of play will never win finals matches, hope they don't sack Chocco
d. Sydney-played to their best this year, due for a downer next year
e. Essendon-good draw got them into finals this year and cannot play properly outdoors.
f. West Coast-still a liability away from Subiaco
g. Fremantle-ditto
h. Kangaroos-middle of the road
i. Hawthorn-look the goods when their finals hopes are over
j. St Kilda-ditto
k. Rest of teams-no hope
That means Adelaide is a certainty to make the GF but there's no opponent.
