Just curious if anyone knows this stat as I was thinking Franklin is now on about 40ish games in a row:confused:

Pav was going alright (they mentioned it during the commentary...maybe 50 games or something...) until Rutten kept him to 0 the other week. ;)

yeh im fairly sure lloyd has a massive number goin on until he lost it this year
i think it was well over 50 but i may be mistaken

TC:eek:

I think there was something about this in the paper recently, it might be Plugger????
Dunstall had a really long streak until the game he fractured his skull in the first quarter, and then had another long streak when he came back.

Actually, it was here I read it, and Peter McKenna holds the record:

Lance Franklin has kicked at least one goal in his past 40 games.

While this is still a long way from the VFL-AFL record of goaling in 120 consecutive matches (set by Collingwood’s Peter McKenna, 1968-74), it is interesting to compare it with the two great Hawthorn full forwards – Peter Hudson and Jason Dunstall.

Hudson kicked goals in 126 of his 129 games, in sequences of 42, 61, 12 and 11. Dunstall recorded at least one goal in 254 of his 269 games. His longest sequence of scoring goals was 72 games (1987-90), followed by 44 (1990-92). The only break between those two sequences was Round 9, 1990, when he went off in the first quarter, having suffered a fractured skull.

Franklin has scored a total of 139 goals in the last 40 games – 30 in the final 11 games of 2006, 73 in the 22 he played last season and 36 in the first 7 games of 2008. The 40 includes a 9 (R 6, 2007), an 8 (R 5, 2008) and a 7 (EF 2007), as well as seven bags of 6.

Jarryd Roughead has also got on a scoring roll. He has recorded at least one goal in the last 15 games in which he has played.

Surely it would be Hudson or Lockett or Dunstall. I know Lockett went over 50 games for the Saints early 90's I think.

edit: obviously not, but from 94-02 Lockett went 114 games without going goaless

Mark Jackson played 82 games. He went for 79 consecutive games from debut kicking goals in each. He only played one game where he failed to kick a goal.

Since Franklin appeared all records are apprently redundant.

The collective fog is amazing.

Indeed, Lockett never played a game for Sydney in which he didn't kick at least one goal. So his 114 streak was "not out" in that it was still alive when he retired (both times!).

Mind you, he almost blew it in his first game of his aborted comeback. It took until the final minutes of the game for him to take a mark on the goal line and kick from about 2m out.

Nice job:rolleyes:
