No-one from the pies has really been underrated, you could argue Thomas but I think he's getting the recognition he deserves. I would've said Maxwell about a month ago but his last month has been ordinary.

I remember watching a Geelong game not long after Max Rooke had changed his name (from Jarad), and thinking to myself "Is he the brother of... Oh wait."

For us its a tough battle between Will Schofield and Beau Waters.

Schofield has come from being our 5th ranked tall defender to our best performing one over the course of the year so far imo. He can also play on bigs and small and breaks lines running from defence.

Waters has come from 2 years of horrific injury to be the leader contender as our next captain.

Nathan Grima is having a blinder for Nth.

Salopek from Port. Has turned into a versatile goalkicking midfielder with very good disposal.

Not sure from other teams. Jamar has been fantastic and is the first to mind but has been getting lots of praise. Kade Simpson tore Port apart and is generally good when I see him play. David MacKay was probably the Crows best player before he got injured.

I'd say most of Carltons entire list has been under rated, if people thought losing Fev would have that much impact....

Everyone knows he is easily one of the best defenders in the league.

I'm not talking about 2-5 years ago, IMO Taylor is better than Scarlett NOW.

Also Enright was underrated two years ago but is now know as on of the premier half backs/back pockets in the afl.

Because Scarlett has been out through suspension & injury.....NOW I understand

Enright is still underrated as a Geelong player IMO because there is so many players doing more noticable things. He is AA so I know he is one of the best half backs but he seems to slip under the radar of many.

For us Matty Rosa. His turnaround from a year ago is incredible, I don't seem to cringe so much when he has the ball, and this year I cringe whenever anyone from us has the ball with the exception of maybe Hurn, Lecras & Kennedy.

For the rest of the competition I would have to say Toovey for the pies, seems to just be the ultimate mr consistent, does his job week in week out.

Lewis Roberts Thomson

Never gets the kudos he deserves because of his ungainly style. Highly underrated defender who does his job week in, week out. Prone to giving away the odd stupid free kick but is rarely beaten one on one these days. Has stepped up in Craig Bolton's absence.

I have to admit LRT has that look of the unco always on the verge of being not quite good enough, though looks are obviously deceiving. Very good player.

David Mundy has been amazing this year. I have never rated the guy and was quite happy for him to be traded at the end of 08. He has gone from being a soft outside reciever to our best clearance player in the space of 12 months
