Has just about been your best player the past month.

If he holds this form line for the rest of the year ( a big ask for a rookie) is it conceivable that he would win it?

Only Fevola and Whitnall really in front right now. He'd at least be top three currently.

By the way, what is the voting system for Blues B & F?

Out.

Scotland would have to be a chance for the B&F too. Maybe even All-Australian. Murphy will finish top 5 though.

Fair to say he could be third in Carlton's B & F at the moment. If i was him i would be getting my acceptance speech ready for the NAB Rising Star Award.

Our B&F voting using works on a lot of team play, one percenters and things. Even when we think they are struggling players like Stevens, Lappin, Whitnall and previously Camporeale, always tended to poll well.

This year I think the order so far is Whitnall, Fevola, Scotland, Murphy and probably Stevens.

I agree, that order is exacltly what i was thinking. But if Murphy keeps being our leading possession winner he might just finnish top 2 or 3. Can u believe on 3 occassions hes been our leading disposal winner this year? Amazing effort.

Whoever wins the B & F will turn up next year as total dissapointments. Ala Teague and Kouta. Well im hoping it doesn't happen.

You can throw in Corey McKernan in 2002 to that mix.

I think Kouta was already fading fast last year but had several games where he dominated with his handballs in clearances. Also had a few games where he struggled to have an influence. The powers that be recognised last year was Kouta's last chance to win another B&F and probably ensured he wasn't challenged for it.

The only other guy other than Whits, Fev, Murphy and Scotland would be Simpson. Still heaps of daylight between the top 4 and him but has performed better than Stevens.

I know what you are saying pumped and agree with you, however the club always seem to have players higher than we think. Last year for example, Campo and Lappin right up there despite us thinking they had terrible years for the most part. Trying to raise their trade value? Perhaps, but the voting is inexplicable sometimes.

I don't want Murphy to get the B&F this year.

Consider this:

Winners
2001 - Anthony Koutoufides - Spent most of 2002 on the sidelines with his first knee injury
2002 - Corey McKernan - Spat the dummy in 2003 when Pagan arrived and played like a lump, leaving again after that year.
2003 - Andrew McKay - promptly retired
2004 - David Teague - immediately lost form and became a VFL player
2005 - Anthony Koutoufides - has slowed down noticeably and doesn't seem to be able to contribute anymore.

The B&F is fast becoming a poisoned chalice. We have expectations for the winner and they are not coming to fruition.

Note that the probable top 3 at the moment are Lance, Fev and Scotland ... all three hardly the model of consistency in previous years.

To be fair to those guys, Mckernan, Mckay, and Kouta's 2nd one were all towards the end of their careers, while Teague had one good year in between shockers - couldn't manage games in 03 for the Roos. Still, hope that trend doesn't continue.
