I thought Murphy would be upgraded to senior list? Thought he earnt it

For Lachlan, it makes no difference. He gets his salary, and is available for selection.

For Justin Reid, it means an empty senior list spot, plus TPP salary cap space - as the rookie wage isn't included in the TPP. If Lachlan IS getting paid above the CBA wage, then that bit is, but that would be the case either way.

So we delist Edwards after only 1 year, knowing that he has a potential gun brother coming through the system, yet retain Wilson and Davis, knowing neither will never be even a C grade AFL footballer.

This club!

5 left unsigned Signorello, Otten, Cheney. Plus CEY, Hunter on the Rookie lists.
Crows still have 6 vacancies Counting Gov as gone.

So on the senior list, Hampton and Gibson both confirmed retired, McGovern gone traded, Dear delisted, then three unsigned in Signorello, Otten and Cheney. That's up to seven changes on the senior list.

Jarman and Edwards delisted on the rookie list, CEY and Hunter unsigned.

Currently have four decent AFL draft picks, possibly up to five with McGovern leaving. Four confirmed leaving with Gov, so I reckon one more gets delisted, should be Signorello, with Otten and Cheney retained. Take five or so picks to the draft.

Then on the rookie list Hunter has to be upgraded or delisted... so delisted it is. CEY traded or retained.

Doubt we'll get any more changes until we know what our draft picks look like

You've gone early on Davis, he oozes potential.

Hopefully we keep Cheney and get rid of the rest. I would also delist O'Brien if we have a backup ruckman on our radar. O'Brien isn't AFL standard and takes us back to the dreaded Clarke/Biglands rucking days.

How would this affect the brother?

He'll have a choice of remaining in SA or running the gauntlet where he could get drafted interstate, only other way he could be assured of staying in SA would be if Port have a lower pick in his draft year and are keen on him. Though there's also the chance they'll have a highly rated F/S too.

Maybe we don't know that?

O'Brien is going nowhere unless we trade him or pay him out, he's contracted until 2019, Paul Hunter however...

Agree on Wilson; seems vanilla and don't really see him as anything more than extreme depth, but Davis could still be something.

I reckon one of Cheney or Otten is gone but they're waiting to see if anyone else wants out. Has Keath extended yet?

They have 6 vacancies, but it's highly unlikely they'll fill all of them. We went 2 short on the senior list, and I don't see them ever filling those vacancies again - unless the AFL changes the salary cap & rookie list rules.

Um yeah..... where do I begin with this ??? Davis has some serious talent, and tricks that few on our list have got. Wilson is a mature age depth option.

Edwards was drafted to keep the masses happy, he was never going to be an AFL footballer, he just doesn't have the game or the athletic traits

Itll have no bearing on whether or not Luke wants to play for us, and if it does it says more about the Edwards family.

I am looking at 6 vacancy total including Rookie list spots,
They will start 2019 with 44 players more if they get a Cat B or 2.

Congratulations on recently celebrating your 12,000th negative post about the Crows.

Please remind me again how many Crows SANFL games you attended this year?

I thought Edwards was a 50/50 decision, he is a neat footballer but lacks pace and could only play as an outside mid in the AFL. There is a limited demand for slowish outside mids in the AFL.I guess I will have to bow to your great knowledge when jackson is picked up by another club in the draft and starts playing great Footy in the AFL.

Ben Davis has genuine X Factor, have you ever seen him play? Like many talented kids, he has struggled to get his body in a suitable shape to play AFL. He may disappear in twelve months time or he could be our next excitement machine, definitely worth another year.

Patty Wilson was also a 50/50 decision, lacks pace but is a level, above most SANFL players. He is more likely to be the next Jono Beech than the next Michael Barlow but one more year seems like a sensible decision.
