Would like to see him play up forward, as he apparently has been doing quite well in the WAFL and the only time I saw him play was in defence on Carey. But I won't be expecting too much, methinks he'll be a fair few years before he starts producing for our senior side.

True, he's still a young bloke, but it'll be good to have a reasonable target up there, to go along with McPharlap if Connolly decides to play him up there again.

Happy to see Murphy in the team.

It will be a few years before he's a regular though but throw him forward and see what happens.

i'm very interested in seeing this guy play.. i just hope he's in the team, my gut feeling is he wont be, but it seems strange him being named this week if he isnt going to play. Connolly seems to be a fan of the serial emergency and usually when a young kid is named he plays.

Looking forward to seeing his debut, hope he nabs a goal or 2.

Umm, it's a 7 man bench, he might not be playing, especially if they have Schammer, Woods and Browne to choose from!

Just read on DL that Barra was at the airport when they left. No Murphy - but the other 24 named all travelled.

Guess it means he's close..

What it says to me is next time connolly will decide to replace t.lo he'll use Murphy instead of Waterhouse.

Hopefully his time will come sooner rather than later.

What's with all the hoo har early in the week about creating instability with in the club.... heads will roll blah blah blah!!! One change, Gilmore out injured!!!! Don't be surprised if there is a late change and Macca misses out.
CC wont's A grade players with 100 or so games under their belt that fit into his soft unaccountable style of football. Kickett, Mcphee, L. Brown etc.... all don't fit in with CC's soft plan. I get the feeling Macca and cookie are not in CC's best 22 any more. I guess they have to much heart.

Personally, I think Murphy is still to young, skinny and inexperienced to play AFL yet. I think naming him was just CC's way of encouraging him, giving him a sniff of AFL. Would've been nice to take him on an interstate trip with the team, but apparantly he was left behind.
