Which of thesè young super star`s would you take if given the choice? Would it be the Murphy the one who has proven he has what it takes to be a superstar at AFL level or would it be Gibbs, possibily the most highly rated player in draft history who has unnlimited potential but is yet to play an AFL game?

FFS will Carlton fans please stop obsessing obver Gibbs, its quite sad really, he has never playde a game of AFL in his life, isn't even on Carltons list yet, and although they are likely to take him they could still take somebody else.
I guess it says something about the position that Carlton are in that they are getting exited over somebody that isn't even on an AFL list yet

I just can't vote on this one. Need to wait another 8 months. Although I suspect these 2 will go down as the best #1 draft picks in the past 15 years or so. Both elite top-shelf talents, they are different types of players though. Imagine having both these players in the one team. :)

How do you feel about the Tiges giving up a top-10 draft pick in this years superdraft? This decision may even surpass the Franklin oversight draft clanger a few years back. Meanwhile the Tiges seem keen to recruit Kent Kingsley and Jason Cloke. Interesting. The Tiges traditional perpetual middle-of-the-road finishes seem locked in for the next 4-5 years at least. :)

I would much rather be middle of the table then "win" wooden spoon after wooden spoon, but this wont be the case, we will make the finals before the young blues, who are actually older then Richmond- FACT;) and we will be in a position to win a premiership long before Carlton. You wont be alive when Carlton has a list to challenge for the flag, and neither will a lot of us:)

I would much rather be middle of the table ...

Exactly. That, after all, is what Richmond are all about. Everyone's happy with the middle of the road finish. Coach is happy, players are happy, and supporters are happy with mid-ladder finishes, hence the Tiges focus on top-up players. By contrast, the Blues are about winning flags, and are rapidly acquiring some of the most impressive raw talent ever assembled, to achieve that objective. From Carlton's point of view, a 2nd finish, 10th finish, or 16th finish, are all the same, and are all failure. Period. The Blues famous success culture is the reason why we are the most successful Club in the competition. Carlton are designing a young team to win a string of flags. It will be great for all footy fans to watch this talented Carlton lineup develop over the next few years. Sit back and enjoy. :)

how about you qoute my entire post parrot, or is it that you don't want to because deep down inside you know how much of a rabble the blues are and you really wish you had a better list, such as a Richmond perhaps?:)

I know for a fact you were alive when they won their last spoon :D

No I was not, and i also know for a fact you were alive for the blues last THREE spoons, and more to come:D and that you won't be alive when the blues will be able to challenge for a flag, but then again most of us will also be dead, that "privlidge" will be left for our grandchildren:thumbsu:

Richmond are the masters of mid-ladder finishes, as one of their supporters nicely pointed out in this thread. It is what their Club is all about. The famous Richmond culture (e.g spitting on their coach), usually only surfaces when they deviate away from that mid-ladder comfort zone. :)

What a suprise parrot that language comprehension isnt one of your strong points.
This can go down with some of your other weaknesses such as spotting talent on the football field:) :thumbsu:

Dont worry parrot - since 1983 Fitzroy have made as many finals series as the Tigers- despite not existing in the AFL for ten of those years.

And they call us a rabble

I rate a few higher than these two;
2000- Reiwoldt
2001- Luke Hodge
2003- Adam Cooney

Are probably the three most likely to have better AFL careers.

Personally I would take those three over Gibbs and Murphy. Murphys junior career wasn't even close although he had an outstanding year this year. Gibbs probably would be taken after these three players in a draft based on their junior career as well.

Reiwoldt is probably the standout no.1 draft pick of the last 15 years. Was head and shoulders above the competition in his year. Cooney was similarly regarded. Hodge as no.1 was hard to pick ll three are proving themselves to be stars at AFL.

Just like Hawthorn bragging about a player that wasnt even a Hawk yet (Thornton). Only difference is, Gibbs will be a Blue. Thornton will never be a Hawk. Have a lovely day, sunshine:)
at least thornton has played an afl game i guess:eek:

if you have voted for gibbs here you are a fool. Murphy has played and proven he has enough talent to be a star at AFL level. Gibbs has not played an AFL game yet so therefore proven nothing. some people have talent but never use it, he could be one of those. dont count you chickens before they hatch.
