Want is the wrong word .... would I feel he'd been harshly done by if he is sent to jail? No.
Would you feel it unjustly lenient if he was to avoid a custodial sentence?

Interesting the calls for collingwood to not play marley Williams whilst Newman barely rates a footnote
The perception of an anti WA bias in the Vic media has gone missing on this issue. Both players are awaiting sentencing after being found guilty if the same charge yet only the collingwood player is being pressured to be stood aside
Even if Buckley is making an explanation mark by selecting him according to that football doyen caro
It's actually evidence of the cause of the bias. Almost total ignorance of anything that happens to players outside of Melbourne ....
Ignorant folk displaying their ignorance ...
Newman playing without sanction from the AFL means they can't really touch Williams and TBH I don't think most care re the pre season ...
The only difference (other than the specifics of the matters which are obviously highly important) is that Newman will be sentenced before round 1, Williams won't be.
But the lack of mention of Newman in the news is significant
In the event he is lucky enough to not go to prison will be interesting to see if the DPP appeal
If they do, when would we find that out? And how long would that process take?
So when is the sentencing again?
So when is the sentencing again?

Doesn't bode well for Muzza

You'd be surprised.. if it is below range they will appeal.. 16 months in WA v Strawbridge in 2005 was turned into 2 years 8 months because it was manifestly inadequate.I think they have 21 days to appeal. Though I would highly doubt they'd bother to appeal a suspended sentence. It's just not important enough of a matter for the DPP to take a stand over.

We have seen the ranges in that link provided. None (if any?) were suspended....
Not necessarily... it *sigh*You think he's gone don't you? Do we do nearest the pin?
just doesn't bode well for Muzza that any were suspended.. however in saying that they are only WASC decisions which means we aren't seeing a lot of the WADC ones which generally aren't reported. So some of the lower-scale decisions may bode well for Muzza. Was Newman left out of the team because of the findings tomorrow? Would he have made the team?
