Liverpool FC,
I decided during the week to take my daughter who is nearly 6 to her first cats game last night.

Now i was expecting to only get 2 qtrs worth and i would be on my way home at the long break. Well how wrong was i not only did we stay for the whole game but she wanted to sing the cats song again the second time.( i new that Cats singing teddy grandma got her would come in handy)

It made for a great night for me personally as im getting that "feeling" again.
Also just to rub salt into the saints wounds my daughter was telling some saints supporters bad luck as if they needed that.

Thank You GFC you may have won over another supporter for future years.:thumbsu:

Ditto with the six year old daughter. Taken her to four matches now, two bulldogs matches and a saints match I think where we got hammered, wasn't too upset to leave at 3/4 time. Then she went to the Richmond match the other week, stayed for the whole match! What a difference a shelacking makes.

On a seperate, semi related note, when did they start not allowing you to walk on Skilled Stadium? I live about 4 hrs drive from Geelong, and took my kids, 6 and 4, up to Geelong to see family. Whilst there, i took my 4 year old boy (mad cats fan already) to Skilled for a look around, and was told we were not allowed to walk on the playing surface. My boy was shattered, crying from utter sadness.

For as long as i can remember, you have always been able to walk on the surface during the week, i've even had goal kicking practice there.

Anybody know when this changed?

Nice story :) If i have kids ill definitely take them to a game at Kardinia Park one day :) awesome experience especially after a cattas win :)

I took my wife there last year (yes trying to convert a QLD born and bred League fan to Aussie rules) and we could get on. She wasn't impressed when I took off from the flank and threaded the "air sherrin" from 50 to the rapturous applause from the seagulls in the old Hickey Stand, but she got over it. Yeah, a bit tragic if they've stoppe dthat. It always felt as though you were being naughty by doing it though.........
