My thoughts on Tazza

Hi All,
I am thinking the Pies wanted Tazza out of the club but decided to do it softly softly, not like the gardiner sacking for the Eagles. I think the final "session" in port melb was the last straw and i think that inked the decision by the pies to say bye bye. If my thinking is correct then the pies have handled the situation internally, professionally and with a "whats the best thing we can get out of it" mentality. And we did do well Pick 8 plus Medhurst. I hope that if this is the case all the other collingwood faithful take notice and realise that the best club is the best on field, off field, best players, best supporters, best sposors and the best financials.
Go the pies in 2007.

Probably spot on considering Taz probably wanted to leave as well due to his knowledge the club would listen to offers for him so opted for destination perth. HOWEVER, im adamant at the fact if there was not a suitable trade like the one we have obviously received, then even though the club may have wanted Taz out- they would not have under any circumstances traded him. They did whats best for the club.

My thoughts on Tarrant are:
- I don't think he wanted out, he just was prepared to leave if traded
- If we didn't get a good enough trade he wasn't going
- His off-field behaviour would of sealed the deal in the decision of whether to trade him or not, but I don't believe it was the major catalyst.

I think Tarrant was sick and tired of Collingwood and thought he would be better off at a W.A club to win a flag. Collingwood won't provide him with that anytime soon. But all in all it was a good decision on both sides, he wasn't performing with the Pies and he needed a freshy, you guys pick up some great picks to begin a hopefully quick rebuild.

tarrant being one of the most imprtant players in the biggest sporting organisation in australia in melbourne is a bad mix! he just cant handle it. would have been better suited witha move to brisbane but freo is a whole lot better then melbourne and the pies

Heathshaw 39 , well your only new to this forum but really you need to think before you post. I guess you might be a yougn keen, maybe dissapointed collingwood supporter. Dont put Taz in the Davis bunch of apples. Taz was a unreal player for the pies over a number of years. He created so many goals and helped us to 2 grand finals. People allways judged his game on how many goas he kicked and not how many he created. You needed to see him play week in week out not just read the goal stats on a sunday morning. Sure he dropped off in the last year or so but thats no need to dump on him. Good luck Taz hope it goes well for you.

It's funny as soon as Tarrant is traded his GF performances come up.
His 2002 grand final was quite good. Had around 10 marks, a very solid performance.
2003, the only players that played anywhere near adequately where Didak, Fraser and perhaps Buckley. Tarrant's help in the forward line that day was Kinnear, Walker and J.Cloke, enough said. Also what did he do in 2003 to get us there? Pretty much everything, he had like 3 bad games all season one of them in the GF.

Well to be honest 12 disposals in 2002 and 2003 grand final. Sure not bloody good enough but his efforts during the year got us into them. You cant dump on someone for having a bad grand final, well maybe 2 bad grand finals mmm doesnt look good does it. Owell he was still great during the years, ill never forget the mark in the goal square.

CHRIS TARRANT.he gave the pies pretty good service over his time at collingwood.I wish him the best at his new club.What i am not convinced with tarrant is that he is not a BIG GAME PLAYER.If he was we would have won the 2002 grand final for starters.Even in home and away games he lost a lot of confidence.In his best home and away years part of 2002 and most of 2003 Tarrant would take great marks(took mark of the year in 2003) hade confidence in his kicking was kicking goals for outside fifty but then lost confidence.WHY? Maybe he got lazy.Terry Daniher was quoted in saying when he was at collingwood he found tarrant was a liitle lazy he didn't do the extra things required to become a big game player.That's why we could n't win those flags Tarrant couldn't take the game by the scruff of the neck and take the game apart.He has the capacity too but ultimately he wants others to do the extra things for him...Anyway good luck at freo tazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.Get prepared for a hiding when the pies play you.
