It is footy, and we are in a grand final, albiet a preseason one. We need all the support we can get there, go and show the boys what it means to be playing for the Navy Blue!

If you're in Melbourne, and you're not going to teh game because it's 'only Nab Cup' then you're not a real supporter.

Any time a team walks onto the ground wearing the navy blue, pride is at stake.

When you've been struggling, small things can be savoured. Finishing 10th in 2003 might not seem like much, but if not for that, we could have been bottom two on the ladder 5 years in a row now. From a fan perspective, that has been a saviour.

Similarly, the last pre-season comp win gave us a fleeting moment in the sun that kept us going through the dark days. I'm not sure those days are over, but cheering on the team to an inspirational win over North last night reminded me just why I fork out for a membership every year, and a win next week work reinforce that 10-fold.

And I disagree that round 1 means more than next week. In the scheme of things, a regular season game doesn't mean all that much. But a grand final win goes into the record books, like it or not, and gives us some silverware, some prize-money, and much more hope for the up-coming season than a win in round 1 would.

That was the fault of the AFL, while led by that non-Victorian, Wayne Jackson, entering into a rigid agreement with the MCG. Then you have a Victorian running the AFL who resolves the matter. Funny how these things work out.

Oh look I agree that wasn't fair, whoever finished higher should get the home final. Same as who kicks the most goals in nab cup should host. Just a joke that there is a possibility carlton won't host the nab cup final.

I have been very suspect over our forward line, am up to the third quater over here in london, and I am profoundly impressed by what I saw. north were devastating, yet our control over the match as a whole was sublime, we were the masters, north just oozed brilliance, but not enough to upset the dominance we held over the game. You could smell it.

Our forward line is looking great. We need fish and whitnal to stand up.

The fact that is the final makes it a bit different to the leadup games. It will be a good experience for the kids they just need to keep a lid on it this time and not get ahead of themselves

yeah if ya live within city limits but not when you live 5 hours away tv will have to do i;ve been to plenty of games costing too much to travel every week

I didn't get to watch the game live, but you should of heard some of the sounds that came out of my mouth when i saw the tape of the game (particularly those passages of play in the first quarter) on Sunday afternoon, they were pretty funny.

I honestly don't understand that line of thinking mate
I'm probably more apprehensive than most on this forum about the problems the NAB cup can bring, but it won't stop me going to the game

We are in the final now so we will have to deal with any problems associated with that anyway. So those who can, might as well get to the game and support the boys It will be great fun to watch. Hopefully we have learned the lessons of 2005 as in other years teams who have won have done well in the season proper. Fingers crossed.

We'd all love to see that, but unfortunately the Melbourne Victory don't play AFL

I think there will be a good crowd turn out for the final, hopefully the 30k+ bracket. Definitely the Blues fans will GREATLY outnumber the Brissy fans, so hopefully we can yell the Blues over the line. Can't wait.
