I'm happy, at least we don't have to go interstate just yet. The only downside is we'll play West Coast in Perth if we win and they win... so fingers crossed Essendon somehow manage to beat them!

that's what the Norwood game's for ;)

We haven't played in one of those for a few years now and by the sounds of things, the Club doesn't plan on having one next year.

Reid hosed down the possibility of the Crows reviving their trial match concept with SANFL club Norwood at The Parade.

"I don't think that will happen, Norwood is playing baseball out there too," Reid said.

To be fair, I was at the last Norwood vs Crows game and Norwood may as well have been playing Baseball, they probably wouldn't scored any lower :p

I have to agree the Norwood trial was always a bit of a joke and a totally one sided affair. Didnt Norwood only kick 3 or 4 goals in the last one ??

It's a bit like the Aussie soccer team having a friendly against the Cook Islands, just a pointless exercise.

The only benefit I ever got out of it was seeing how Crows players compared to other Crows players on the same team. Like, with so much entry into the forward line which forward dominated the most?

I remember walking away after the 06 trial against Norwood thinking Hentschel was set for a big year, and sure enough it happened.

I also remember walking away thinking that Bock playing at CHF was a silly decision :p

So it's not totally pointless! :D

Don't the NAB Cup rules say that when the 2 winning teams play the match will be played at the team who scored the most in their win? So as long as we pump the Power and score high we should play at home the following week. That's how I thought it ran, unless it changed or never existed and is only a figment of my imagination. :(

That's only for the Grand Final.

Looking forward to it. What sort of crowd would we be looking at? I hope the older blokes are rested so we can test our draftees and younger blokes. Then maybe bring them back for our 3rd or 4th match so they can get used to the gameplan/tempo or whatever.

I would say a small crowd given that the car race is on that weekend, and probably why it is a showdown as accommodation would be hard to find.

Nah the AFL site has us playing the winner of West Coast and Essendon at their home ground :thumbsd:

Why would this be a problem? the more away games the better, it is a trial.
The only reason I would like to see the Crows do well in the pre season cup is that the games will be televised and we`ll get to see first hand how the youngsters perform. but otherwise the whole concept is overrated.
At the moment round 1 looks to be at Subiaco, it is a perfect lead up for that game.

Bring it on.
