lots bash him. had a decent start to the year. last week and this week he's been a standout. people forget we were impressed with him in his first season, could have been second year blues last year. :thumbsu:

He needed to. If he can play like he has been this season the tiger army will begin to share the love just like Jake King.

Even if Troy Taylor was still here he wouldnt even get a game this season the way these 2 are going.

I think If Troy came back in tomorrow it'd probably be Brad Miller he should replace in the forward line...

He deserved the bashing with the way he played last year up until the game last week. Much happier to have a Tigers player prove me wrong than continue to do the same things wrong :thumbsu:. He needed to know his limitations and make the most of his strong areas such as speed, work rate and class around goal and less of things like trying to break tackles and go for the flashy thing over the first and safer option. I wanted White and Nahas gone at the end of last year but gave me a big smile to see him play the game of his life tonight.

I wonder if Kingy has a role with any of these guys struggling to help them turn themselves into the best they can be? If there was ever an example of a player turning themselves around by using their strengths to the best of their ability it is him.

His game tonight was actually Harvey-esque, although many will scoff at that. The important thing is that a few lesser lights are standing up when some better players go a bit quiet. That's important. Still way too many errors across the board from the team, but Nahas very good tonight. Here's hoping he continues the upward trend.

he's been bloody tremendous this year probably one bad game v Hawks when no-one fired, he has been hitting every contest at full pelt and really carrying the ball with plenty of zip, playing with alot of confidence and courage, great to see, the crowd love him with the ball in his hands

Still suggest that he hasnt hit the top form i expect from him. Should have nailed a bag of 5 tonight. But pleasing to see that he is starting to sniff the sausage rolls.;)

Gee you set the bar high CR:eek:

Nahas (& King) tonight show just how irrelevant size can be in a contest. Many would never have recruited Nahas based purely on his size rather than ability. Nahas could become the cream player we need going forward. Tonight on top of recent weeks he showed his worth IMO:thumbsu:

Its not just Nahas but the whole group of 'Too Small To Be Any Good' group that is starting to really come together. Not sure people actually realise just what sort of impact guys like Nahas King Nason & White havein our side. These blokes are the ones who are doing all the chasing and harassing that causes the opposition to hurry kicks out of the backline which forces the turnover further up the ground.

Have a look at their combined game tonight: 64 possessions 31 contested possessions 10 goals 19 tackles. As I said its this type of work that allows our stars to go about their work without having to carry the team.

Miller's problem is he is a terrible set shot for goal, keep him around the 50 and wing and he actually does ok.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. I think he would be better at half back to half forward where he can take strong marks around the ground. A resting ruckman can go in the forward pocket with Jack.

Mind you Miller has been pretty good thus far, just his goal kicking is a problem.

Back on topic, Robbie has been very very good the past two weeks. The guy never seems to tire and like Kingy is giving 110%. I was full of admiration tonight.

yeah, he should look to dish out plenty of handballs, pretty unreliable kick unfortunately

Dimma, again taking underdeveloped players and bringing out their best.

One thing that separates Robin from the other fringe players is, he looks in the last 3 or 4 weeks to be a player who can rise to another level. The way he is going he could easily push for a top 5 B&F Sounds simplistic, but wow he is pumping. Who would have thought.

man, as i have stated time and time again, watched him carve back lines up in his days at Port Melbourne. bags of 3 and 4 week in week out. He has had to sacrifice a bit of that to add another string to his bow, to keep his spot on the list. But as you saw tonight, with his first goal, he has that step that leaves his opponent for dead and then has the awareness to know that he doesnt have to rush his kick and straighten up and kick the goal.;)

Nahas and Martin tonight were great for one major reason. Their work ethic was amazing. Both players were clearing the ball from inside defensive 50 one moment, and just moments later winning contested balls inside 50.

Anyone else think Dusty is so much more a better kick over 50m then he is over 30m? Really stood out to me tonight, especially early in the game.

Yeah.Miller has never been a big goal kicker and I doubt Hardwick was relying on that aspect of his game when we picked him.
I used to go to a lot of Melbourne games aswell with my ex missus and about 7-9 seasons ago I thought Miller was a very good player. He would make these hard leads through CHF into the centre and dish off by hand to the runners who would then chip into the space Miller had left behind him for Neitz to lead into.
For reasons best known to Neale Daniher one day they decided that Miller should be a defender. He's never been the same since and nor were melbourne.
Secretly I hoped that if Miller was to play senior footy for us this season he would perform a similar role to those years. No game breaker,no match winning bags but a definitive role that helps our whole forward set up.
I'm thrilled with him.I understand it's a short term thing but he is more than doing his bit.
I know it's a Nahas thread!
What can you say about Nahas. If a player has the capacity to run to the extremes of Nahas he is at an enourmous advantage and gives themselves every opportunity both within the game and to forge a good career.
A bloke like that will continue to find the footy and combined with his speed that makes him very dangerous.Great to see him doing well.:thumbsu:

Nahas looks to be taking his game to the next level. Good on him. His last 2 weeks have been like his 2009 form with a bit of improvement

much better than that MT, he was merely a FP then, he's playing in midfield and proving to be quite menacing...he's confident and bloody courageous when he has the pill I get a sense somethings gonna happen and with the buzz in the crowd, i'm not the only one thinking that:thumbsu:

i forgot about that, it was an absolute blinder

That kick; when he got it on the back flank, ran 15m into the middle and kicked 60m inside the F50 (reverse side to which he was running) was absolutely sensational. Hit Riewoldt right on the tit. No wonder Riewoldt is most excited about playing with Dusty :D
