Oh no. We can't debate if the club should take NAB

When did Balme say he was going to look at NAB???
He said the club hadn't even spoken to him.

Its a debate is it? Reads more like a bitter character assassination to me.

Balme said on SEN they will be considering him, if they consider him to be serious. What more do you need to know, or what else needs to be said that hasnt already been repeated 50 times over about the guy?

Ablett's character outside of the game is irrelevant. Ablett's character as a player has to be brought into question because his commitment is a documented issue. Even Cam Mooney has stated that Ablett was never interested in playing, didn't want to do the work. I'd much rather see a kid try his hardest and fail than see Ablett scam a couple more years on a rookie list based on a pre-prepared media statement and no on-field performance.

And TheHonestyPolicy if you don't feel that you can contribute to the discussion then you aren't obliged to post, I'm not going to stop arguing my point simply because it upsets you.

You still think I have an alias. Do you think _Me_ is me? because that's pretty poor detective work on your part. I have only ever had this account on BigFooty. Give me a compelling reason, other than "He's an Ablett", why you think Geelong should rookie list him? Use logic and reasoning instead of being a fanboy of the Ablett name.

Wrong on all counts. Hated Gary leaving but got over it, sort of.

The only good footy he has played at senior level is at Geelong. If we deem his attitude and body to be of a level we can develop over the next 2 years as a rookie I support that decision. There is a marketing aspect too that relates to dollars that no one has mentioned if the two Abletts are pitted against each other in a home game for example. Would pay his wages in one weekend.

All the other stuff no one really knows about. Where he is at, how his body is going, how we can develop him I will leave in the hands of the footy club. Saying we shouldnt touch him, when we have already inclined we will have a look at him is your opinion ok, but does it need to be repeated and repeated over and over as you are doing? Starts to read like some bitterness and personal agenda is brewing here?

Then enough with all that other horseshit you were ranting about, I don't know what you were talking about.

I didn't care that Gary left, I really didn't like the way he did it. I think Geelong is a better team without him now, his style of play forced Geelong's hand in 2010 when he wouldn't play forward. My opinion.

I don't believe he has what it takes to even get back to senior level, he had 2 years to do it at GC and didn't. Whether that's his fault or not is irrelevant, because it is what it is.

No, I don't think you understand how debate works. If I say one thing and you take the opposite view, then I will reinforce my view expecting you to do the same, while remaining on-topic. If you get frustrated with my obstinance on my view but cannot formulate a compelling argument to make my position less convicting, you either cede the argument or you stop posting. It doesn't make me right, it just means that my argument is more solid than yours.

What Balme said on SEN might as well have been that Ottens was 2 weeks away from playing, just a throwaway statement. If Geelong DO decide to rookie list Ablett, it doesn't mean I will stop supporting the club, it just means they will have made a decision that I didn't agree with. However since all we have right now is speculation, my argument is just as valid as yours. This is not about bitterness or an Ablett vendetta, this is about practicality. If you can't handle that not everyone worships the ground that the Abletts walk on, that some people just see them as footballers, then that's your failing. Not mine.

I can't believe I have to explain this to you.
