Explains plenty, seemed to have lost his explosive pace since returning. Hope they find the issue and he is back to full fitness soon. Kids got gifts and just needs a clear run at the rest of the season unimpeded.

Yes and if we had of kept our big mouths shut and not let every other recruiter know that we were "right into" Bontempeli we may have got him at pick 6 also. McCarthy and Bonts would have been handy. Hopefully Sharenberg can prove me wrong.

I also think that recruiters make their recruiting decisions based on what we say on Bigfooty...

Damn you Knightmare !

Scharanberg has show some good signs in the VFL last 2 weeks. Had 21 Touches this weekend

That said, I doubt he will ever be a Matt White given our pathetic development program that has literally cut down Marsh, Freeman and Moore in the last two years. It is NO coincidence that all three have suffered serious hamstring injuries. It really disgusts me how poor our management of these kids has been...

Seriously? So, what, the club has deliberately inflicted the injuries? or is it perhaps a coincidence that the rest of the list have not done hammies? Or perhaps it's no coincidence that Moore and Marsh both have 5 letters in their name and that 'm' is the fifth letter in Freeman.

Word from SA (Port official) that the rumors doing the rounds over there are that Danger has committed to Pies in a 6 year $6M deal. Time will tell.

Sad news for Freeman.I hope they can finally get to the bottom of the problem with the exploratory surgery. But something clearly isn't right here. The kid didn't have any trouble with his hamstrings before he came to us,now he seems to be suffering with chronic soft tissue injuries.

On the injury update by Balmey (thanks to blackmores). Going in for some exploratory surgery tomorrow. Hamstring still causing him troubles
Why do we have to have the commercial blackmore's reference? Unless of course it's tongue in cheek.

So you are Smarter then Hine then:rolleyes:
Smarter doesn't really come into it. There would be a shitload of people smarter than Derek Hine, but they don't necessarily spend all their time/energy/resources researching the upcoming talent pools.

Please quote where I said that.

Pretty much everyone who has seen the VFL has said he didn't look quite right, you clearly have no clue. I said he looked like he didn't have confidence in his body in the round 1 VFL review.
You obviously edited the post where you said it but Ketchup quoted your original post in post #25.

You said -- "You could tell watching him in the VFL something wasn't right, his hammy wasn't right since round 1 and I guess they hoped it would get better... 5 games later and here we are."

You clearly said that you could tell something wasn't right and that his hammy wasn't right since round 1.

I await your apology but then again I have "no clue".

True, but we persisted with Josh Thomas and we'll persist with Freeman. I don't feel great about it because I didn't like him before the draft either, but Hine knows better than I do.
I am not so sure that Hine did know more about him than you do.

We also wouldn't be here discussing this if Kirby didn't make shit up to get attention o_O

But please keep clapping like a seal for him
You have been proven to be a total bullshitter in my last post.

Stop acting like a child whose been caught with his pants down and a finger up his bum.

At least it's only exploratory surgery and not another full surgery.
The club would be more disappointed than we are about the fact that he hasn't been able to get full fit, but at least they are doing something about it, to hopefully ensure he will come good.
If we didn't do this and he he ruptured his hammy again, this board would go into a serious meltdown.

We are currently sitting 3rd on the ladder with a 4-2 win/loss ratio.
Yeah, it would be great to be able to have our 3 of our top 10 picks playing footy, but atm, we should just be grateful that we are in a position where we don't need them.

I'd prefer we get them right, rather than throwing them to the wolves when not ready , or out with the bath water because we haven't tried every thing possible to get them right..

Sidey, Greenwood and Seeds would still have a position before them in the pecking order at the moment anyway.
Reid is also ahead of them when he comes good.

Later in the year, hopefully, we can have the luxury of calling on Sharenberg, Moore, Freeman, Marsh etc when needed.

We also have DeGoey who has been bashing down the door for a few weeks now, so all is not lost.

It may just end up being a blessing in disguise, having three top 10 picks (4 if you include Reid) to choose from later in the year when the other younger blokes start tiring or losing form.

Don't think so, he had hip surgery and I think he missed with a glute... in either case he is almost certainly back this week.
Those areas are intrinsically linked. The gluteals are hip extensors and rotators.

So was Knightmare.
The same bloke who doesn't rate Moore or De Goey?:drunk:

I'd wait a few weeks before judging this one, it was clear he couldn't go flat out at VFL level so this may in fact be the best course of action, especially long term.
