isn't it amazing how what is considered a mediocre team in the West (Nuggets) is able to easily destroy what is considered elite in the East (Cavaliers)??

that said... i doubt the Pistons would even be able to be top 5 in the West.

No he won't. The Big huff and puff won't be playing for a while. The guy couldn't even make it past one training session with the Suns.

10:4. Copy that. Got a little excited. Sorry.

Hmm.. Cleveland's beaten SA @ SA, Dallas @ Dallas... beat Celtics twice.. I guess they're better than those teams then?

Cavs were without half its list against Denver anyway, 30 point is impressive, but the final score doesn't tell the full story.

so you're saying the Cavaliers would be elite in the West??

please... u know it and i know it. the west and east this season has arguably been the most unbalanced in history.

they need to apply hollinger (i think)'s playoff suggestion:
1 west v 8 east
2 west v 7 east
3 west v 6 east... etc etc.

i could imagine all 8 of the east being knocked out in the first round.

They're starting Mo Evans. Always a bad sign.

At this time.

Mo Evans>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Keyon Dooling>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>JJ>>>>>>>>>>>Keith Bogans.

Shows just how average we are with our SGs.

Well obviously when teammates pitch in, the team works. The problem is, they pitch in once every few games. Take Hughes today, 40 points.. on a 10.3 ppg average.. LeBron is the only consistent player and without him Cleveland would be a bunch of inconsistent bums who would struggle to win 15 games. With James, they make the NBA Finals.

I guess that's why Boston has a 16-0 record against the West so far this season.

You know they have only beaten the Lakers, Nuggets, Mavs, Rockets, Spurs etc etc.

Or are none of those teams any good?

just because boston have that record against the best western sides doesnt mean the east is great. boston and detroit, and then cleveland are streets ahead of the rest.

melo clutch ftw!! k-mart beasting.

wade screwed up in OT.

but holy crap! Anthony Carter is a terrible basketball player... why does Karl start and lodge 30 minutes into him?? I know he's the best 4th quarter player and is clutch... but seriously.

It doesn't mean that all 8 seeds from the East would go out in a 1st round finals series against the West either.

With Hollinger's playoff rule if the playoffs started today (with no injuries as well):

i see it as:
Phoenix (1) v Atlanta (8) - Suns win 4-0
New Orleans (2) v New Jersey (7) - Hornets win 4-0
Dallas (3) v Washington (6) - Mavs win 4-0
Utah (4) v Toronto (5) - Utah win 4-1
--
Boston (1) v Golden State (8) - Celtics win 4-2
Detroit (2) v Denver (7) - 50/50
Orlando (3) v Spurs (6) - Spurs win 4-0
Cleveland (4) v Lakeshow (5) - Lakers win 4-1

but yeah... i could imagine all 8 East's being knocked out.

Close to it though I reckon.

Going by current standings, id say the playoff results would be:

Boston (1st in East) v Golden State (8th in West): Boston 4-1.

Detroit (2nd in East) v Denver (7th in West): Detroit 4-3.

Orlando (3rd in East) v San Antonio (6th in West): San Antonio 4-1.

Cleveland (4th in East) v LA Lakers (5th in West): LA Lakers 4 - 2.

Toronto (5th in East) v Utah (4th in West): Utah 4 -2.

Washington (6th in East) v Dallas (3rd in West): Dallas 4 - 1.

New Jersey (7th in East) v New Orleans (2nd in West): New Orleans 4 - 0.

Atlanta (8th in East) v Phoenix (1st in West): Phoenix 4 - 1.

So going by this, only Boston seem assured of victory in a first round finals series against a western conference opponent. Detroit might sneak over the line, by the rest of the eastern teams are likely to lose to their wester counterparts.

Hard to fault Boston, they just keep winning, home and away, with and without KG.

But as what happened with Dallas last year, the jury's still out until the playoffs.I still think Detroit will be a tough series,Billups will abuse Rondo, and If lebron turns it on he could take a few games off them in a 7 game series.

And just as plausible is that Dwight Howard goes ballistic and pummels Spurs on the boards and they win 4-2

Le Bron takes apart the Lakers and they win 4-2

Bosh and co. get the better of Utah and win 4-3

Washington/Dallas would be interesting series if Arenas/Butler actually hit the play offs in good shape.

New Orleans wins, though any team with Kidd/Carter has an outside chance of wiining a few games maybe even an upset.

Phoenix just lost one of their best players for a broken down vet who might not even be there come the play offs. Atlanta wouldnt beat them fully fit, but when you have your two bigs injury prone nothing is a certainty.

Detroit/Nuggets would be a cracker but the Pistons just seem such a well drilled and cohesive unit they appear to have the team to get over the top of Denver.

Alot of the presumptions seem to be based on the fact Orlando/Cleveland/Toronto are just going to be rolled over the top of quite easily.

If Boston is say the benchmark then Cleveland, Orlando, Washington and Toronto have all beaten the benchmark.

None of the west have as yet.

It's all a personal perspective of course.

You've got to be kidding. Just as plausible?

Orlando might beat SA in a series 1/10. And that's pushing it.

Toronto would be very lucky to get one game off Utah. The Jazz are a much, much better team.

Washington/Dallas would be interesting if you like watching blowouts.

You've obviously not seen Kidd/Carter play this season much. NO would sweep them every time.

And Atlanta beating Phoenix might be the most ridiculous statement of all.

I would, however, take Detroit to beat Denver comfortably. And Lebron would be an outside chance to beat the Lakers, although it's very outside. The rest is pure lunacy.

Detroit and Boston are top-tier teams, who would make the playoffs in the West. None of the others would come close.
