Fair enough, but I think you go a bit overboard with your dislike of stats.

You have to understand, for example, that just about every NBA team employs a stat guru. Is this wasted money? Daryl Morey is basically a "stats guy", and he's the GM of the Rockets.

Disregarding stats altogether is just as bad, if not worse, than only looking at numbers and not watching games. After all, there is no such thing as an objective eye.

i dont disregard stats, i just dont them as seriously as some. fair enough for those who do (for fantasy games), each to their own.

Bynum has him covered comfortably in every aspect of the game, but playing on a stacked squad tends to deflate your numbers.

But still, top 5 in a draft is a good effort from Bogut.

Can't ever see him getting above 16ppg, and players rarely improve their bpg number with age.

If he can ever put together a 15/12/1.5 season, he's done well.
Bogut is the better passer, he is smarter and IMO is the better help defender. I agree that the 16 points he scored in the last 50 games of last season is likely his ceiling but there is no way you can make conclusions about his bpg. He's an odd player.

Yeah, I think the Bucks will have some nice value throughout the season. Skiles' ability to eek out regular season wins shouldn't be underrated.

Ditto for the Knicks and D'Antoni actually, despite their lack of talent.
$2.22 today against the Bobcats. Needless to say I took it. Picking the Knicks is a little tougher as a lot depends on the 3 ball dropping. I don't like having money invested in Q Rich's jumper!

Big, massive no re: help defense, but I'll give you passing (although Bynum is no Jermaine O'Neal either).

I think Bogut's biggest problem thus far is that he's been developed as a pure, back-to-the-basket type C, and I don't think that's his go.

If I were da coach, I'd play him exclusively in the high post, where his passing and screening abilities are best utilized. Sort of the role Sabonis played for Portland, but with the added kink of being able to attack off the dribble.

He'd need to re-discover and extend that jumper he once had, but he can certainly put the ball on the floor well enough against most 5's, his passing and screens are A-grade, so I think it would work well. Milwaukee might need to find another post player before they can try that though.

Agree to disagree then on the D. Maybe if you forced yourself to watch some Bucks games you'd learn to enjoy a guy take a legit charge or two each game. :)
I partially agree on Bogut's scoring. He does need to actually attack from the high post more in the style that he employs for the Boomers. However his low post needs to be persisted with as you don't want to waste a guy who is ambidexterous down low. He needs refining for sure but it's a nice string to have in his bow especially against small balling teams or for picking on smaller C's and guys who don't like the contact. (Boozer, Bargs, Bosh, Horford, Okafor etc.)

Should clarify I think Bogut is above average defensively...it's just I'd have Bynum in the best handful in the league.

As far as guys who are great both one-on-one and on help D, my list (in no particular order) is Perkins, Duncan, Bynum, Chandler, Sheed. That's it.

Fair enough I'll make sure I check his D out next chance I get. He must've improved a bit this season.
