I'm sure this time last year you guys where all nervous as hell. Well as the first bounce is only 49 hours away I am starting to get really nervous. Do you guys have any tips on how to control the nerves?

To be fair , I would compare your season to ours in 04 . Loss in the first final , win the second and play a Preliminary for the first time in years against the Premiership team. In 04 I wasn't really nervy as there was minimal expectation on us. Last year however , I was tight. All the season , all our hopes riding on getting past this game and it was obvious early the Cats were off.

Anyway , If I was a Dogs supporter I would be trying think about the finals experience that your young players are getting , look for who stands up under the heat of a finals game and focus only a little on the result. The pressure is all on us. We have had a 21 and 1 season. To not make it , it would probably be the first time in history that a side with that record didn't get to the GF. Our advantage is we won it last year and hopefullly that will get us thru what I expect to be a very tight game.

Good Luck for the future , as in 09 but not this Fri.

I didnt know the result until about an hour after the game. I was madly trying to get hold of a mate in perth but i just couldnt get a score. We had just moved into our new place and had no internet and maybe no power, i cant remember?. Id heard it was close in the 3rd qtr but thats all i knew. I also got an sms from another 'mate' that said 'cats gone' and my heart sank. Ive never felt so sick in my life..........

I borrowed (on a permanent basis) those two massive 'GO CATS' signs on the Harrison Bridge (both sides of the road...) after the Prelim last year. I was very excited.

I was too angry to be nervous. Bloody MCC locking us out after we had lined up for 3 hours and got our seats early.

Oh my, I still get nervous watching it!

Is that Triple M coverage over that footage from the Premiers 2007 DVD Boxset?

I love listening to them, they make the games much more exciting/entertaining, and made sure I waited for the Grand Final DVD with the multiple commentary. I haven't picked up the boxset yet, but thought it would just be the bare bones dvd's with Seven/Ten commentary only.

I remember being hell nervous before & during that game, as I'd bought a GF package over $1200 a month out thinking we'd make it. I remember the umpires keeping Colllingwood in it for the first 3 quarters, and due to that I recall telling a mate in the first half that it would come down to Rocca having a shot in last min after doing nothing all night.... I wasn't far off, but never knew he was playing for a logie not a Grand Final spot!

As I'm going to be over there live this time, I'm hoping it's a little easier on the nerves, as to drink enough to calm them would cost me an 'arm and a leg' at the 'G!

I was too nervous last year to be nervous if you know what I mean. The entire preliminary final against Collingwood was just a blur, and it all seemed a bit surreal. I sat glued to the tv and watched the entire match, but I remember sitting back afterwards, scratching my head and kind of asking myself if it had really happened. No I wasn't drinking at all. It was just a very, very strange feeling.

i wasnt nervous until about two or three hours before the game when i saw the drizzle coming down as i was heading into the city. I was a nervous wreck until about 10 minutes past 10 that night when the final siren went. i cant even explain the joy i felt and how loud i screamed or how high i jumped when that siren sounded.

I havent been nervous at all about this game and dont really anticipate getting nervous either but things may change. you never know. i feel more confident this time around though.

I felt sick pretty much all week leading up to last year's prelim. From my office window we have an amazing view of the MCG and surrounds and every time I looked out at the ground I felt sick again.

At 5pm on the Friday, when I was packing up to go to the game, I saw the 'G floodlights turned on and it was terrifying.

Strangely enough, I've been pretty calm today save for an hour of stressing out last night (and the general stress involved in organising tickets earlier in the week). I'm sure it will hit me tomorrow as I make my way to the ground.

It's the Triple M commentary, but I don't think it comes on the boxset (at least it wasn't on mine). The only multiple commentary is on the GF.

I think S "Think's He's Daicos" J has just added the audio to the recorded video - is that correct SJ?
At least, that's what I've done. It was a bit fiddly to line it all up, but far better to watch than the Ch7 commentary.

i would've requested to be moved to a different desk during that week. i wouldn't have been able to concerntrate all week. Not to mention the week after

Sounds about right.

I've actually done something similar with the 'Roy & HG' commentary. It's pretty funny. They do about 20 minutes of pre game stuff as well. You can find their link on the Triple J site but be quick. They may delete it by next week when 2008's 'festival of the boot' begins.
