I thought the Swifts lacked something up forward yesterday, their defence and midcourt were fine as such, but Cox and Pratley weren't on their game. Maybe Cox's injuries did actually get to her (she is having surgery in a couple of days too). But wasn't van Dyk fired up. By heck did she play well.

Final Score of the Preliminary Final

Waikato BOP Magic 54 defeated NSW Swifts 49

GRAND FINAL:

Adelaide Thunderbirds vs Waikato BOP Magic at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Sunday

GO THUNDERBIRDS!!!!

umm yeah. i recorded it off tv and then put it on DVD.

I'm off to the game though folks!

Members have to pick up their tickets at the door on Sunday! How confusing is that! But anyway, i'm off to the game and i simply cannot wait!

Awesome win against quality opposition. Was surprised to see the score & Adelaides handy lead in the 2nd quarter when I turned the tv on.
Their season seems a little quick. Only seemed like last month we had a poor start to the year losing the opening couple of games.

don't mind me folks. ubolt is still alive and well...just.

What an awesome game, awesome day. That was just amazing. With 9000 or so people packed into the entertainment centre it was always going to be a great game. Thunderbirds were a bit shaky in the first few minutes, as the Magic got going, but as soon as we were into the game, nothing was going to stop us. Mentor was brilliant and stopped Van Dyk in a huge way, she just didn't show anything at all and Mentor was all over her. Gerrard was on top of Jodi Brown, and letting Jodi Brown shoot is the way to go, the Magic are going to need a better GA if they want to win the Premiership. I haven't seen Sharni Layton play better than she did yesterday, she had Jade Clark by the throat and didn't let go. Clark was getting so frustrated and she was all over the shop. Von Bertouch was just Nat von Bertouch, dominant, in control, in charge, and no-one was going to stop her. Emily Beaton was probably our quietest on the day - she had a great game, but was probably the quietest, and up the forward end Erin Bell - nervous in the 1st quarter, but unstoppable after that and Carla Borrego, the brilliant Carla Borrego, missed her first goal, but was never headed after that and Casey Williams had NOTHING for her all day. Absolutely nothing.

10 goal win. Brilliant game. Brilliant result. The crowd was magnificent. I then moved onto the after-party for the girls and that just went nuts. Drinks were flowing. The place was pumping. The girls were excited. Photos were being taken. Had a late night though. We just didn't want the day to end.

to put it simply: YOU LITTLE BEAUTY!!! 2010 PREMIERS!!! The ADELAIDE THUNDERBIRDS!!!

oh man so jealous I didn't go to the after-party- was it at The Grand ?

So much noise in there hey. They should play all their home games at the Ent. Centre from now on, ETSA Park is way too small.

The Dome is probably the Thunderbirds best bet, it's a bit more set up for sporting events (like Netball obviously), there is nothing wrong with the Ent. Cent though. it fits about 1000 or so more people, but if you have a smaller team playing (say Central Pulse as an example) then the Dome is better fitted. The Dome has the scoreboard (which i thought was a bit amateur at the Ent.Cent), better facilities, and better viewing as such (not that there was ANYTHING wrong with the Ent Cent in terms of viewing), but the Dome is a bit more professional, and ETSA Park (while things are good there) is simply too small for this competition now. That wall up one end doesn't help. I tried quite a few times to go to games this season at ETSA Park and they just sell out too quickly, not 12 minutes, but they just go too quickly.

Netball SA don't want it moved from ETSA Park though. There seems to be too much in it for them, if they got their sponsorship and deals worked out with the Dome then they'd be fine.

As for the after party andrew, it was at the Hilton. The Hilton are sponsors of the club, so the girls go there quite a bit. (should i be saying that now? it might ruin everything!)

I'll be heading along to the Test in Melbourne and also the one up on the Gold Coast, is the day after Werribee VFL play Gold Coast. :thumbsu:

The 15-player squad for the international series against Jamaica and New Zealand was announced, Bianca Chatfield was the shock omission.

Any thoughts on Chatfield being left out?

Chatfield hasn't had a great season. And it doesn't help when you've played in a team that has lost so many games.

A little harsh on Chatfield when similarly Cox was out of form last season and in a team that struggled but still got picked for Aus. Kind of feel for Bianca at this point.

I agree BD.

Howevver I think Norma Plummer has kept in mind how well Fuhrmann played during last year's international season, she did an amazing job io on Irene van Dyk and really stepped up.
