I hope you got it from Kmart for $22.

Wouldn't mind a more thorough review to make my mind up whether to shell out my hard earned for it or not.

Not surprising - since their huge resurgence started in 1989 with "Pump" (a great album), they have aimed for #1 with a lot of sterile limp Bryan Adams-type mushy shit.
"Get A Grip" in 1993 was patchy, and everything since has been shit.

Someone should re-introduce them to their life-threatening drug habits, and they might start getting some of that ballsy blues swagger back into their music.

Going by his name he likes non-Ozzy Black Sabbath, which to me is an oxymoron.

Ronnie James Dio was the biggest joke of a dwarf in rock history and would have forever tarnished the name of Black Sabbath, if it wasn't for the fact that Ozzy and the band made perfect music up until about 1976!

Download Radiohead's Amnesiac or buy it June 4 if you want to hear aural perfection.

Sabbath's "Heaven and Hell" is easily their best album, better than anything they ever did with Ozzy! No disrespect to the Ozz who is a legend in his own right. The riffs on that album would have made it their greatest, regardless of who sang on it, but I doubt it could have been done any better than the way Dio did it.

FIGJAM, if you think Dio's shite, have a listen to Rainbow's "Rising", the greatest album of all time! Pure vocal and guitar mastery!

Dio is one my favourite singers, but he needs someone to write the good tunes (like when he had Blackmore and Iommi), because his solo stuff is pretty dodgy even though his actual singing is still great.

Darky, I knew you were cool!
Heaven & Hell has been one of my desert island albums for the past decade.

I'd love to read a track by track description from anyone who cares to share their thoughts on this brilliant album.

Typically hypocritically Christian of you! You've just executed the perfect definition of irony!

Radiohead ******s? Show a bit of emotion and ingeniuty in a rock world that is full of Matchbox 20 and "Teenage Dirtbags" and you get labeled as queer. They're all in steady relationships with WOMEN and Thom and Rachel have just had a baby boy. I will also take this opportunity to profess my stringent hetrosexuallity, but won't let myself miss out on the best band of our generation just 'cause they're not blokey/mainstream enough. There are other realms outside of Tripple M FitzJimDio!

Also FJD, there's no need to get personal. You have a chance to respond to anything posted here, so do so with class.

As for Sabbath, I dry reach whenever I hear Dio sing. Heaven and Hell is only good in the context that the previous two Sabbath albums, Technical Ecstacy and Never Say Die were mediocre to say the least. But anyone who can look me in the eye and tell me that BS, Master, Paranoid, SBS, Vol 4 and Sabotage aren't their greatest albums are drunk. Those six albums defined a genre of music.

At the end of the day I LOVE Sabbath, but with or without Ozzy, weren't even close to some of their peers of the time (1967 - 1980) in the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin. Just my less than humble opinion!

more judging on your part dearie...who said i was christian? i could well be a satanist?

and if you only appreciate ozzy era sabbath that is totally up to your narrow little mind

so dont be calling me a triple m listener when youre into matchbox 20 and radiohead fodder sap..

class?..you wouldnt know what that was

I didn't say you were a Christian, FitzroyBrettMichaels. Read posts correctly.

Radiohead don't get airplay from Tripple M and Matchbox 20 are a "Rock" version of the Spice Girls. Now that you made me mention Radiohead and Matchbox 20 in the same sentence I feel nauseous. I hate Matchbox 20 more than I hate Forty Alexander!

If I am being narrow minded in terms of disliking the majority of post-Ozzy Sabbath, it is because I have heard it all. I just don't like it. Metallica took over about that time anyway as the class act.

As for knowing what class is:

1. I watch Nathan Buckley play football every week!

2. I feel that you are in no postion to judge, given that I have visted your 40 Alexander homepage and nearly choked with laughter. I haven't seen haircuts like that coupled up with blood-flow restricting lycra pants since Warrant's film clip Cherry Pie back in 1989!!! Maybe Unskinny Bop was the last time...hell I don't know, but it's f*ckin' hillarious!

I'll give you a plug www.spinaltap.com..

I am allowed to make judgements dearie, get used to it!

GO PIES!!!

Gotta agree with Darky, I've got a few Dio Solo albums and they're nowhere near as good as Firstly his Rainbow stuff and secondly the 3 Sabbath albums he contributed to.

Great singer!

i think the early Dio solo albums are excellent. Vivian Campbell was a valued member i think. The debut Holy Diver is a monster album. The last few dio albums have gone down hill. Magica was a bit of a return. But the ones with tracy g on guitar disappointed me personally.

Craig Goldie is back in the line up. He disappointed me when i saw the band at festival hall many moons ago on the sacred heart tour.

The Dio albums aren't specifically bad, just a bit unspectacular. They just plod on like he's released the same album every 2 years since the mid 80s.
