What a joke.
I genuinely don't think we liked the SANFL ultimatum.Ticks a box
"Park Lands should be for everybody"What a joke.
Don't forget cyclists."Park Lands should be for everybody"
Just don't build anything to entice anyone to use them other than walk a dog or agist a horse.

Doesn't leave us with terribly many options.
I wonder how many of the 25 options Fages said we looked at remains.I genuinely don't think we liked the SANFL ultimatum.

Pretty sure Olsen will try the "Team Adelaide's chances of a career in Liberal politics is dead" approachI wonder if Olsen would try the Major Project approach?
Do you mean, Houssam Abiad "Team Adelaide", or Team America "Team Adelaide"?Pretty sure Olsen will try the "Team Adelaide's chances of a career in Liberal politics is dead" approach

What a coincidence! The ACC would be close to the most backward Thinking organisation around.
THISfu** the ACC. Build it anyway.
No wonder the Aquatic Centre is going badly. Imagine trying to run that place with thousands of people coming in and out, school holiday programs, high performance squads, maintenance, training, staff, accounts, catering, deliveries... and coordinating it all without an office.“it unequivocally clear that we will not support any proposal from the Adelaide Football Club that would include the construction of administrative facilities within the Adelaide Parklands”.
I guess maybe that's where the talk of us having our admin separate came from? Mentioned our current plan was to have it all in one spot, but ACC not budging on giving us land for admin purposes.
...and can’t even do the last part of your post properly. This is a council that has spend like a drunken sailor, borrowed to fund operating costs ( no business in its right mind does that ) and has ageing assets like the aquatic centre that it can’t afford to renew ! They are the worst performing city council in Australia and that’s saying something.Thebarton was the only option. No way would the ACC entertain anything other than the full aquatic development entirely on their terms. Don't forget, they're not a business, they just raise rates to match outgoings.
Or the Adelaide University Soccer club that built a facility on the parklands...Don't forget cyclists.
If West Coast's facility is the template, there is no reason Crows couldn't build the same at Thebarton Oval.
Reorientation of the main oval to be the same as Adelaide Oval and same dimensions. Same size oval built on the west section of Kings Reserve in the same direction (opposite the current community centre). A similar size footprint of the West Coast facilities could be built behind the northern goals of the main oval (and providing viewing of the second oval), shaping around from the Ridings Stand and filling in the space through to the bowls club and all the space back up towards the Thebarton Community Centre that isn't the car park.
The SAAFL and SANFL could still build their facilities on the western Thebarton Senior College side. The old grandstands and entrance gate could still remain. As does the Thebarton Community Centre. As could the south-eastern section from the bowls club down. Rebuild a playground and some recreation facilities around the perimeter of the second oval. Still a carpark near the entrance of what would be the Adelaide FC and Thebarton Community Centre, Bowls Club as well as heaps of parking at the Brickworks.
If the Adelaide City Council aren't keen to allow building on parklands - there wouldn't be a better place, besides if the Crows could take over Wayville Showground. Besides parklands - I'm not sure there would be anywhere else that close to the city.
No need to share with another SANFL club or any other sport. The ground is full of league football history. 2.5km as the bird flies from Adelaide Oval and 1km from Thebarton Tram Stop. Get in early and have the oval redeveloped so the Crows have as much input as the SANFL and SAAFL. Should be every bit as good as West Coast facilities.
To be fair that's the size of a public toilet.Or the Adelaide University Soccer club that built a facility on the parklands...
Still, it's a facility built on public land for use by an exclusive group is it not?To be fair that's the size of a public toilet.
Yep, the restaurants, wine centre, gym, bowls and archery clubs, golf course, zoo etc. are obviously for everyone. Yet a footy club isn’t.
