Will be still plenty of traffic on south rd given there’s only a couple of exits

Yes but most of the traffic will be using the tunnels. There is an exit heading north after the River Torrens if you need Grange and Port Roads. From the north and heading south, the entrance to the tunnels commence before you hit River Torrens.

I would think 90% of traffic on South Road will use the tunnels etc rather than surface road.

Re the smaller oval, the red dashed line is the road project boundary I believe, so not much opportunity to do much more before that is complete. This oval gets us the funding we need.
However the land to the east until the black dashed line will then be returned to the community post the road project, so after the road is built there is much more land where we could expand this oval, plus space to the south east to accommodate a proportional widening of the oval

I don't think this is the case, they are widening the bridge, the tunnels begin between the river and Ashwin Pde though

So they are restricted by the trees to widen it, if extend the length it’s going to one skinny oval, suppose will help us when we play at Geelong

Imagine there'd still be a notable amount of traffic given that portion of South Road is on the fringe of the CBD.
At the same time the reduced amount of traffic can't be a bad thing, in reality one less thing for the 'action group' to complain about.

Would love to know what oval 2 would look like in that art if the 50m semi circle was actually drawn to scale
A quick look at google maps, and a 50 metre reference measurement, take the arcs to just outside the centre circle. (roughly)

Bigger than SCG then?

Is it possible?
Maybe if we still had the administration we had in the late 00s to mid 10s, the ones who came up with the current catastrophe and the away jumpers of 2010-2015. I doubt it could get much worse as it is now given the club is aware people hate the existing one, and they seem like they are actively working to please supporters.

Anyone listen to 5AA this morning?

The idiot protest group has done a letter box drop inviting residents to a training session they are holding (in person or on Teams) to teach them how to write a submission to SCAP.

And they've included a list of their own items that everyone should raise including traffic, parking, liquor licencing, unruly behaviour....

What about the trees!

This is too far gone now for the government to listen so they are wasting their breath. Far more votes to be lost if they block it

They did the same when the council invited comment late last year before their final decision on granting the lease a few days rior to Xmas

For me it was kind of funny reading the flyer and then reading the comments submitted - many of them just quoted the flyer verbatim

Liquor licensing and unruly behaviour are new 1's though

To be fair, parking is a genuine concern for them.

Most of the residents bought their property with no regular SANFL games. Only the annual ammo league GFs.

At Richmond oval the parking was all on street Saturday. Would be a pain living there when games are on. But they knew that when buying their house.

As it is for all neighbours of SANFL clubs. But they knew when buying the property these occur.

This will be a hassle for them when we play SANFL/AFLW games there.

It is the only legitimate grievance against this development the neighbours have.

Kinda ironic that the second oval is going to be used for parking on games days

Yet the action group forced the size of the 2nd oval, and hence the parking space, to be greatly diminished over 11 trees

This action group has repeatedly proven that they're not prepared to compromise on anything

That’s a good point, parking is a problem of their own doing
