Went into EB at Southland today and they had done a really good job with their slicks. They had a stand of pre-order boxes prominently out the front of the store.

They took the snippets from here for the back of box and took highlights from the FAQ. The front they used the Wii cover - very well done and showing a lot of initiative considering they had to do it themsleves at the store level.

Does anyone else remember the afl game that had the training feature built into it ?

Because I can't remember which year it was I know it was either afl 2004,2005 or 2006 because I know it wasn't 2007.

Gareth, you really can't blame the EB games stores. They are only using whatever advertisement and slicks they are provided with and I don't think there are too many EB games employees checking this specific thread eveyday to keep up with what's going on (besides the store BAS went to, Glenno's store and maybe a few others).

They are just doing their job and unless they happened to play a lot of the old AFL games or have been keeping up with these threads (which is near impossible to do) they really wouldn't have a clue that they are using old pics from the previous games or that the info isn't accurate for the 360 and PS3 versions.

Whoever designed the slicks/advertisement and sent it out to the other stores is to blame, however as BAS said, they aren't big AFL fans and didn't mean for this to cause a stir at all.

My guess - wait until the cricket one dayers are complete. Then the focus will turn to football and the nab cup and then the AFL will have all the attention they need for a successful launch....!

We all can only hope. I'm doing my best to avoid these boards by periods of more than 9 hours a day (Thankfully I have been flat out at work lately)...I just wanna log in next week and see a frenzy of posts in regards to a Press Release lol but not sure what the odds are!

Except i have a display inside my counter, so when people look down at where we sit the computer, i have a massive AFL advertisement staring at them

Once i get some more marketing, i am going to create a coming soon display around my demo TV

And once there is some footage released (Ross, i'll take some early footage cheers ), i am going to make a DVD and have it running constantly on a loop so everybody pre orders this bad boy at my store and i win at pre orders (and life too)

98 is not a perfect rating (99 is)-

I'm using a rating system similar to the NBA games where players like lebron, kobe and wade are rated 97, 97 and 96 repectively.

The system has elite players 90+, all star caliber players 85+, good players 80+ and it goes on.

(and I'm Miami Thrice because of the Miami heat lebron, bosh, wade)

With your player ratings I don't think Gary Ablett is very close to a 'perfect' player, there have been many better players than him in history and he has many weaknesses' he should be 94 tops, Riewoldt at 97 is ridiculous, you need to do alot more research, many things go into a players attributes, not too sure about in AFL games but in NBA 2K there is rebounding, shooting, passing etc.

Anybody who puts Riewoldt above players like Buddy, Judd, Swan or Goodes (especially after Riewoldts 2 no show performances on the Grand Finals) Has no idea about AFL footy in an un-biased view. Nobody will break 97 at least in my opinion Ablett and Swan share 97 Judd 96.

LOL he'll be above Dal Santo, but on a cold day at the G it could be a close call haha.....I have to say my top 5 will be (After player attribute editing):

Swan & Ablett - 97
Judd & Franklin - 96
Brown - 95

If not Brown then Joel Selwood he had an amazing year.

How so? Swan won the MVP voted by his fellow players Judd won the brownlow voted by the umpires of all people. Ablett speaks for himself formber Brownlow medalist 3 time MVP and what puts Ablett and Swan above Judd is how they both dominated all finals series. I dont see me rating Didak a 96 cause he isn't I'm a supporter who watches every game everyweek and thats my opinion.
