The Hawthorn Football Club announced a new addition to the senior coaching panel with the appointment of 1990 Collingwood premiership player Gavin Crosisca.
Crosisca, 34, has signed with the Hawks for the next two years.
Coach Peter Schwab said Crosisca would be a welcome addition to Hawthorn.
Gavin has gained valuable experience as an assistant to Denis Pagan at the
Kangaroos,” Schwab said.
“At Hawthorn he has the opportunity to combine what he has learned with his own
thoughts and philosophies.
“He also has experienced the ultimate success at AFL level.”
Crosisca, 34, was at Arden Street for two years after a 246-AFL game career
with Collingwood under coaches Leigh Matthews, Tony Shaw and Mick Malthouse.
“I was very fortunate to get a job under Denis Pagan straight after I finished playing,” Crosisca said. “Now I am very fortunate to be involved with the Hawthorn Football Club.”
“I’m a hard-nosed, disciplined type of person and my attitude has always been to get the best out of individuals. “Hawthorn has shown in the past what they can do when they run with the ball, so
the talent is there.”
Crosisca will work as a defensive coach. He will work alongside George Stone and the recently-promoted Donald McDonald. McDonald, Box Hill coach for the past three years, is now responsible as development and forwards coach.
