Did they get rid of the country game? It was alright for a few years but I don’t think they did anything for it during covid it’s really meant nothing since they brought it back in 2022. Ironic that the country game was never even played in Geelong, all three times Geelong hosted it was at the G.
I think when the Bulldogs were playing in the actual country regions (Ballarat) and folks were staying up there and getting food and drinks before and after the game in town, that did more than some weird token petting zoo at the front of the MCG.

I thought it was a strange choice to wear the ‘Gold Coast’ version of the Brisbane Lions jumper at their old home ground? Talk about blurring lines. The ‘Bears’ to me will always be a Gold Coast team. I know they went to Brisbane for a few years before they merged with Fitzroy, but they wore a different jumper when they went to Brisbane, this was their Gold Coast jumper when they played here at Carrara.

Its the official clash jumper for 2025 so they had no other choice, Brisbane did wear the Maroon V jumper at Carrara in their final year.

Its a great looking jumper, dissapointed it hasn't been used more this year, as it is a clash jumper be interesting to see if they stick with it in 2026 or change to the Lion from the BB

It is a great jumper. It was never thought of that way when it existed. They changed the brown/maroon colour to a sort of pink, and then often wore the inverse clash as much. They changed to the chevron type of jumper in the 90’s, then the lions merger happened and the Fitzroyesque jumper emerged, then people got nostalgic towards it.

Is there any talks of pink becoming the main jumper, its a good jumper and stands out form the others and is unique?
Well apparently it’s their best selling guernsey ever, and they said they’re wearing it at home this week due to popular demand.
Imo it will probably become their away jumper.

Interestingly looks like there will be some differences between player issues and retails for Freos retro. No 2003 style collar on Reid’s press conference jumper.
It feels like everyone knows this should be our permanent jumper, Murphy Reid even mentions it, if we’re still wearing the chevrons by 2027 it’ll just feel weird.

Can confirm, the Geelong jumpers for this week do not have individual local club logos on them.
But they do have the ribbon of local club colours.
Thats a shame, the local club logos was what made them last year.

But when they won in 2006, what were they wearing, royal.
And in 2018 royal.
The tri-panel Eagles design is just really odd.
It's just strange that for over 15 years this massive club wore a design that now in retrospect feels so disconnected from their visual identity. Are there any WCE fans that actually miss the tri-panel?

Former Wembley primary school students??

But they wouldn’t dare wear it in their grand final’s. They always wear the wings.
I was actually just debating this idea this morning on the Bulldog clash jumper, the number one question is simply “would you be happy to wear this on Gramd Final day?” If yes, it’s a great clash jumper. Save random one off’s for Gather round or retro round etc.
By the way I finally love Essendon’s current clash. My kids played at a club with Essendon colours and have always had the simple inverse clash for about 20 years.

anyone remember the actual reason we changed to navy blue?
From what I’ve heard, mid 90s sports fashion was rather garish, and navy blue was seen as more ‘professional’ and looked better on merch at the time, so the club changed.
