For those interested in the statistical side of the game, I thought I would let you know that the Association of Cricket Statisticians and Historians has added a "Cricket Records" section to their website (currently covering Test and first-class cricket, but I think Limited Overs and T20 are in the works).

Go to www.acscricket.com and click on the Cricket Records link. You have to register (but not join the ACS itself) by simply supplying an email address and password.

At a cursory glance it is pretty extensive and includes records you may not find elsewhere (particularly in relation to first-class records), but I haven't directly compared it to other sites (cricinfo, etc).

something Ive always wondered - the stats guys working in the comm boxes, where do they get their stats from? Cricinfo?

There is a link with the ACS and Cricket Archive. For example, when I clicked on the batting records in the First Class Cricket section, the first stat lists all the double centuries in first class cricket. When you click on the game link (for example, Warwickshire vs. Durham in 1994 for Brian Lara's 501*) it takes you to the scorecard for that game which lies within the Cricket Archive website. There are however a lot more records within each section than there currently are within the Cricket Archive First Class Stats section. Looks good.
