Pumped for Mike White, think hes better than a lot of people realise. I expect the WRs to put up far better stats than they have all year.

Just wish the Jets would let young qbs play thru their mistakes look at Fields he looks like he has turned the corner but if looking at his first dozen starts you would be leaning towards bust more than star.

? It wasn't his terrible play that got him benched, it was the zero accountability and pissing off the locker room.

And I could've told you his character was a red flag 5 years ago.

Tell me something new.

Chicago Bears defence was pretty banged up. Lost a bunch of safeties so they were hamstrung with the looks they could roll out there against the Jets. White will be tested a lot more next week against the Vikings in Minnesota. But definitely made it look like the QB change was the best thing to do for the team.

Vikings d is terrible outside of pass rush so be following week against bills will be first real test.

MIKE F'ING WHITE :tearsofjoy:

As Dixie Flatline said above Bears defense was horrible and got worse through the day with injuries but the offense looked so much better with White in at QB. Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore in particular seemed to relish having him passing the ball to them.

We'll see how he goes against the Vikings next week and against some tougher defenses for the run to the playoffs but you can't help thinking if he was in the last month we win at least one of the games against the Pats - whether we beat the Bills is another story but moving forward it's his job to lose for this season anyway.

Zach Wilson will not be the Jets QB again, it's safe to assume.

Heartbreaking to lose in that fashion but great effort and never say die - Berrios really should have held that and it would've been another W on the road. Shot ourselves in the foot with too many red zone drives ending in FGs

I don't see how Zach Wilson gets back, on exposed form he is just not as good a QB as White, nevermind the locker room.

Wait till White vs the Bills. He got exposed last year against tough defenses after he made a great few starts and they went back to Wilson. It may happen again. Obviously Garrett and Zach must be having issues. But they invested a very early pick and millions on Zach (and Garrett) to give up on Zach. ??? Maybe they trade him like they did Darnold, another failed pick ??? and move forward with White and draft another QB or sign a vet QB instead ???

Or maybe Zach pulls his head outta his ass and develops and the bad blood smoothed over between Zach and Garrett ????

Whole situation still very fluid imo.

last two weeks white has played bottom 5 defences in vikes and bears let’s not get carried away.
True and it's more a reflection on Wilson than White - would Wilson have put up the numbers White did over the last 2 weeks? Would Wilson have stood up in the pocket to make throws or bailed out at the first hint of pressure?

Not saying White is the answer but Wilson clearly isn't either - until White proves he's not he's got the job. Going back to Wilson would just be shuffling deck chairs.

Saleh would risk discord in the locker room if he went back to Wilson. White has done everything he's needed to do to hold onto the job. Yes, the red zone efficiency against the Vikings wasn't good enough, but it wasn't good enough under Wilson and White seems capable of hitting his passes. His receivers dropped a lot of catchable passes today, and arguably LaFleur could have called a better game for the offence.

The Bills defence on the road will be White's toughest test, for sure, and I'm not expecting a win from that game next week. After that game, the Jets go on the road to Detroit to play the Lions, then have a very short turnaround to play the Jaguars on the road on Thursday night, then host the Seahawks on New Year's Day, and then finish the season with a home game against the Dolphins. So the schedule does tend to lighten up a little bit after the Bills game.

After two games, White has 684 passing yards, for three touchdowns and two interceptions. Wilson played seven games so far this season, for 1279 yards total, with four touchdowns and five interceptions. In terms of yards per game, White clearly has Wilson comfortably beaten.

White is everything Wilson isn't, a hard worker who knows the offense inside out.

The offense looking far better has nothing to do with the past two defences its faced, its because the Jets have a QB who knows how to run it. Wilson would have been garbage the past two weeks imo. The offense has never run as smooth as it does for White in ANY GAME Wilson has started for the Jets, and hes started 3x more than White has.

He can also make checkdown passes, stands up in the pocket and spreads the field by using his receiving options. Not saying he's gonna be the franchise QB but he looks far more competent at this stage.

Mike White went to hospital after that game yesterday, took two absolutely brutal hits and refused to sit out. Oline should be ashamed of themselves for that game honestly. As for White, the stat sheet might not look like much but he played well enough and is a ******* tough SOB.
