Efl's Wrap Up
Alright guys, first off congratulations go to Okey,Zainta and Timmy for all the work they've put in, someone had to do it and those three have done a magnificent job.
Secondly, thanks to everyone who participated for the Newbies. Very positive signs from the majority of the team. Some of the future stars of the competition will come out of this team.
Now to the game;
I'll start with the negatives.
1. We needed more leadership from our captains and vice - captains, and we needed one of them to stand up and play a huge game. Don't take any offense to this guys by the way.
2. Our midfield was convincingly beaten. Our three on ballers did not gather enough possessions and did not kick enough goals. Compared to their midfield, we were absolutely smashed.
3. If we were going to win we needed more goals from our key forwards. Even though Okey kicked straighter, we still needed him and hendo to have big games, this was not the case.
4. We did not have enough 20+ disposal getters. The Legends had 7 of them, including their whole midfield. We had 5 20+ disposal getters, nowhere near enough.
5. All of their midfield and both of their wings all got 20+ disposals. That is 6 players all getting 20+ possessions. We had 3 players from our midfield and our wings getting 20+ possessions.
6. The Legends midfield kicked 7 goals, ours kicked 2.
7. They kicked 16.21, we kicked 9.7. That is 37 scoring shots to 16. Also the fact that they kicked 21 behinds means that we were very, very lucky. The result could have been a lot worse.
8. In the 2 decent quarters that we had, they still beat us.
Now, the positives;
1. Cooney, outstanding. 23 possessions for a fullback. You still conceded 4 goals though, but the fact you had more possessions then your opponent is very impressive. Future star.
2. Roughie was one of our best, 24 possessions from the wing and equalled your direct opponent was very good. You played well when they had the momentum, and that was your main strength.
3. We won in the ruck, I myself have not ever beaten Boncer in the past and that was a huge acheivement for me. Boncer being their captain and arguably one of their most important players was a great acheivement for us to have beaten him and won the hitouts.
4. Okey kicked straight. After the shocking kicking in the practice games, it was good to see you hitting the target.
5. The start we got was fantastic, Tap from me, Roughie running down the wing and BILC finishing it off was brilliant.
So that's all i've got to say guys.
Back to the clubs, good luck for the rest of the year, and it's been great playing with you guys.
I am sure I will see all your names in the leading goalkickers and leading stats boards in the future, as well as the vote count at the end of the year and for many years to come.
Cheers
