There have been a couple of games where the list has not changed from the previous game when we had won it.
As we’ve seen that decision has allowed both consistency and familiarity to build between the players.

We know the younger players are the most vulnerable to be dropped for the more experienced ones coming back, but I’m sure the selection committee would still be aiming to limit the amount of changes they make to a group that has been winning.

Have to hope that is the case anyway.

Selection integrity often comes up when people come back from injury with out playing WAFL, and the team is playing well.

Especially when you change team structure to fit in the player.

It is good question if we won the game because we played two rucks, or we won the game despite the disadvantage of playing two rucks.
Anybody coming back from an injury layoff should have to force there way in by outperforming in the WAFL. You need to play your way in. Perhaps having to wait for an injury opening up a spot. Particularly if the team has been performing well.

Clearly this is the message at the club as they try and keep players feet on the turf.
As for me...
YOKAI!
FLAGMANTLE !
Threepeat!
I think this could be a very good team. And I hope the inconsistency is just age/inexperience

Why? What if that isn't the best possible team for us to win?

So we have an even better performance from the incumbent before we drop them. They get an extra game to go full Vossy as they know their experienced replacement is playing WAFL.

This doesn’t apply if it’s the Captain coming in or someone getting paid over 750k per year.

Nah that's just not logical.

Clubs have all the performance data for how players are physically, so they have a good idea on how restricted or what level they think a player can perform at.

Selecting purely based on who was in the team the week before is anchoring on something for no good reason.

Pick the horses, based on the courses.

Was talking to Brennan Cox last week during the making of the sea container video Promo for the Dockers and DP World and he said the players were loving the idea of having so many consecutive home games in June.

People underestimate just how disruptive and difficult it is hitting the road every second week.

I think the team will demonstrate some really spectacular form at Optus during those games so we’re in for a treat.

Supporting Freo is like being stuck in a phugoid cyle. Like others have said, the 3 weeks leading into the bye were superb but we've been here before. This side have shown time and time again that they're capable of stringing some very good games together, but that's inevitably followed by a surprise poor performance and an abrupt loss of form.

Realistically we should be sitting around 11-6 at worst heading into round 19 but I'm still not convinced we will be. It'll be another big tick if the players put in a month's worth of professional performances in games they'll be starting as clear favourites.

I think if the player returning from injury is capable of delivering more than the fully fit guy in his spot then you drop the fully fit guy.

AFL is a game of moments won and lost, better players make better moments for us.

The last aspects for me are team balance and trying to get continuity into the closest thing to the B22 you can get on the park so they have maximum cohesion for the pointy end of the season.
