Next 5 games - How many wins are you expecting

Sydney has looked very good tonight, Dogs were very accurate at goal and quick on the rebound, but jeez Gulden makes a big difference for them.

As a side note we could afford to lose to Sydney, but the Hawks game is one we really want to win since it's a classic 8 pointer.

That game at the start of the year hurts even more now

North (Optus) - After the bye
Essendon(Optus) - 5 day break
St Kilda (Optus) - 10 day break
Sydney (SCG)
Hawks (Home)

The next 5 games all winnable. Hopefully Sydney and Hawks don't find form, but I think the minimum we need to win is 4. Hopefully we get all 5, which leaves us on 12 wins, and gives us a great platform to push for 15 plus wins for the year.

After this we have which includes 3 very tough games, and only one easy game.

Collingwood (Away)
Eagles (Home)
Carlton (Home)
Port (Away)
Brisbane (Home)
Bulldogs (Away)

Based on the state of the ground and the 150mm due in the next week the scg will be a mud heap by the game. Will be interesting to see how it goes but I would suggest win/lose it’s not the kind of game you get too wrapped up in.

It is crucial we beat Hawks in round 18. I believe GWS and Freo will be fighting it out for a spot in the eight.

My attempt at the ladder prediction has us finishing ninth just behind GWS on percentage. We need an unexpected win and/or a unexpected loss by GWS.

I think we need to win both to get to 15 wins before round 22.

I don't want to be going into the last 2 weeks, needing to win vs Brisbane or Bulldogs, and I don't think we make finals with 14 wins and our percentage.

Tipping the favourites, with us losing the last two games we just sneak in 15 wins. A loss vs St Kilda or Sydney, and we are right on the edge of the 8.

It would always be ideal to win them all, a lot will depend on form but we've historically matched up fairly well against Brisbane at home.

It's highly likely 13 wins will not get you finals this year, and a possibility 14 won't.

Ultimately we need to win our way into finals anyways, not just fall into them.

I think we need to win 4, want to win 5 and what Freo will chuck up is unknown.
We shouldn't lose any of the games at Optus, and if we do the Sydney game is very winnable.

As a side note why oh why teams coming off the bye don't play each other, it would be a good small equalisation measure.
North will also already be here after playing the Eagles in Bunbury, let's roll out our best distractions WA!!
We won 4, should have been able to make it 5.
Keeps our season rolling, nothing more, nothing less at this stage.

I hate doing this exercise but I did a Ladder Predictor for the next 5 rounds where I was trying to be honest but leave some room for error not only in our games but the other contenders.

Had us going 3-2 and at 6th @ 56 Points. My predictions also had Western Bulldogs (3-2), Suns (2-3) and Hawks (2-3) all on 52 - basically meaning unless we can snatch the W against one of Collingwood or Brisbane - our game against Bulldogs is a must win because of our %. I think Suns will clean-up their remaining games from that point and we can't rely on Brisbane to beat Hawks since Top 2 will be sewn up for them regardless and Hawks will be playing for their lives.

A Collingwood loss isn't necessarily all over and we'll know sooner rather than later if we can make it since the 3 week block after is non-negotiable.

Feeling the slightest bit optimistic after some doom & gloom in recent weeks we can actually make it in... Young and Simpson big boosts to our ball use and movement also...

Please do not shit the bed against Carlton.

It's not Carlton i'm worried about surprisingly, it's the big 3 midfield of Port (away) that I'm scared for. Home ground against Blues should get us through but Port are just a team out to play spoilsport atm

They certainly spoilt the Eagles chances of finals :)

Are you less concerned now that JHF has been ruled out for the year?

Port in Adelaide will certainly never be easy but they are missing a few especially in the forward line and Rioli looks very unfit.
