Triple M guys damning Campo for last night - didn't give the Hawks any respect, didn't learn the lessons from other teams, didn't try and adjust on match day.

Campo has done a good job in a terrible circumstances, but last night has to strike his name off of the list; if he's on it.

Surely Woosha would have collaborated heavily with Campo? He's up there in the box isn't he?

Lingy just claimed Worstfold has been offered 5 years at Essendon as Director of Ciaching or Coach and has offered Guy McKenna a role as 2ic
Starting to garner quite a dislike for our lingy.
These fukers and clambering over each other to try and out scoop each other and be known as the arse with all the great contacts.
Thanks lingy, this was all said yesterday.
You add nothing. **** off.

Don't be surprised. At no stage has Lingy ever offered insight. Worst commentator in the game

What I want to know is how is it seemingly so well known Pyke is the man? we have been a valt yet this is supposedly leaking more than 2 weeks out from a potential announcement.

It could be media rubbish yet we seem to be believing it despite history being against doing that!

I have to say though my feel is that we had made the decision and he knows so has informed west coast and too many people know for it to not get out somewhere. But if that was the case you'd expect these breaking stories to come from perth sources so I'm just not sure how the club would have let this out if it is true based on recent track record

Everyone thought it was Dew last time so

I'd back us to try something out of left field again:
- Malthouse - with a good list I think he'll be more West Coast & Collingwood and less Carlton
- Beveridge - Bulldogs are broke, shove a heap of money under his nose and see if he sniffs.

Whilst very unpopular to admit, I agree... I would love Craig back at the club in some capacity other than head coach.
Sad how much us supporters underrate him.

I tend to agree and probably DOC would be a really good position for him as long as the Head Coach would remain their own man, which I suspect they would if they were worth their salt.

In terms of coaching staff news, Worsfold is most likely gone. Campo will not get the top job but likely to stay on as an assistant but Milburn will not return!

Shame about Milburn, probably really starting to get a good feel for the role, although he has completely failed to improve our kick outs in his time here, whether that's mainly him or head coach though... If he goes, wouldn't be against poaching back Ben Hart, left to further his senior coaching credentials, not sure he's done this, but from what I understand was extremely good as defensive coach.

Sportsbet doesn't have a market. I contacted them a couple of weeks ago and they were going to look into it. Never heard shit.

Agreed, it has to be Pyke. Too many subtle hints.

Pyke when he was on the radio was talking about his career. He said something like "yeah I did start at Adelaide" the way he said it the next line could have easily been "so it's ironic I'm now senior coach". Just sounded sus

Reckon it's probably got something to do with not wanting to be seen to be profiting from someone's unfortunate death.

Malthouse is just crazy talk.

Craig and pyke? Just like 05 and 06 but pyke senior coach and Craig director of coaching?

Very unlikely but I for one wouldn't mind that. I know everyone hates Craig because of his last 2 years at the crows but he is a man of the highest integrity and character. You can forget about his record at Essendon and Melbourne too, no person on earth would've done any better with those two teams
Not sure about better. Certainly no one could have done worse

Seems to be cause Fagan says we will announce after GF, so assume it is someone still involved in the finals, 2 and 2 equals Pyke

Peter Sumich is still involved with Finals.

Fits the age profile I feel our playing group responds to. Our guys don't respect young guys as head coach. Also spent a bit of time with Woosha and Walshy, and then under Lyons. Some great coaches, he has been associated with.

Coaching career[edit]
Sumich served as coach of South Fremantle in 2000 and 2001, taking his club to a grand final in 2001, which the club lost to East Perth. He accepted a role as an assistant coach at the West Coast Eagles when his premiership teammate John Worsfold was appointed senior coach in 2002. Sumich served in this position for ten years until 2011, which included the club’s 2006 premiership victory. The Fremantle Football Club announced in October 2011 that Sumich would be joining the club as an assistant coach underRoss Lyon.[11] His change in clubs was described as a "defection" and a "shock move".[12][13][14]

Pyke isn't young. Same era as Worsfold and Sumich. Also coached with Phil at the Eagles, and us during the early Craig era. Was instrumental in our innovative game plan back then that saw us become unbeatable for a while there.

Not discounting Pyke. Just thinking who else is still involved in Finals and could he a good fit for our playing group. Peter Sumich was the other guy I thought of.

A few posts up someone suggested the media are all over Pyke. So it may not be him.

Tend to think it is out of Pyke or Sumich.
