getting smashed in contested possession has nothing to do with game plan or coaches. that's on the players. it's 1 game. get over it.

The Swans swarmed us and we had no answers. That's gameplan and coaches.

Selecting Maccaffer and Maynard, that's coaches.

It was a really poor game and the coaches has to take some responsibility for that, get over it.

Agree with the first two but somewhere along the line players need to take responsibility too. Too many times we were flatfooted and not sure that the coaches can be blamed for a difference of 31 less contested possessions.

Don't worry, I've bagged the players as well;)

I agree, I don't think its 100% the coaches fault or 100% the players fault.

I wish I would too, somehow I can't help coming back to read more stupid, broken-arsed, clueless and reactionary bullshit on these boards. Which category do you fall into?

Sounds allot like you mate.

I liked Tony Shaw, he was a teacher first and coach second. His class certainly did well in the later years.

Remember Buckley saying he was before his time as a coach, said he was very good.

I wouldnt panic yet as hes contracted but if he dishes out more big loses like last week on a consistent basis he will lose his job before his contract ends.
Plus the club might only have a small window of opportunity to get a coach they want who might be out of contract. The club is backing bucks but the members are pressuring them for results. He needs to deliver now he gets paid top dollar to deliver.

Why do posters assume that people like Lyon, Beveridge and Simpson (or any current coach) are instantly going to drop their current role and come to Collingwood? Some naivety in here..
Because of our culture of overpaying for mediicrity. Who wouldn't accept a high paying job with little accountability. Take the team backwards, but win a preseason practice match, and we'll reward you with a contract extension.
