No they'd get criticised for that too.

"First round" gets confusing when there are priority picks or compensation picks. If there is a compensation pick in the first round then the premier gets pushed out from pick 18 to to pick 19, but it's still regarded as being first round. Yet in other years the first round ends at pick 18. Can't have that randomness if you're going to be fair and consistent. Best to specify a certain number of picks.

But I agree there's nothing magic about 20 or 40. They should say top 18 or top 36 instead. That would be an AFL-specific number and would make sense.

I guess most people are so used to working in multiples of 10 they go with that.

On this occasion I'm defending them, but I agree a lot of the time they do seem to have NFI.

His turn of speed, evasiveness, and creativity all proved troublesome for Queensland’s defenders, with Tsia’s smarts seeing him carve up the opposition from dangerous spots in attack. Great to watch at his best.
