From one of the articles on Gardiner: The Saints intend to place Gardiner on their long-term injury list.

So who do we bring up? We must be testing our rookie depth by now...

More importantly, can someone fill me in on who's actually on our long term injury list and which rookies are currently eligible to play seniors?

What about replacing an injured ruck with a rookie-ruck (try saying that quickly three times... "rookie-ruck"...)? Van Rheenan.

Wasn't Hamill on it? If so he will be taken off now and Jones and Attard would stay on the list, I think. If someone knows the facts please let me know. By the way, very good question.:thumbsu:

I would also love to know this as well.

Although this is a little off topic, does each AFL club have a veterans allowance? (i.e 2 players over 30 only half the salary goes into the cap) I'm not sure if i read this or imagined it. Who are the two saints players if this is applicable?

With Hamill back, Jones would be put back onto the rookie list, but now that Gardiner is on the LTI list Jones can stay on the senior list.

We don't have any other rookies that could play AFL footy yet.

So, to confirm: that's C Jones and J Attard on the senior list from the rookie list and Gardiner and BJ on the long term injured list?

Check out this link in regards to the Veterans List...

i think you can download the whole CBA...good reading

The bottom line is...from what i read...the more veterans you have on your veterans list the lower the percentage of their salary is taken away from the cap. Something like that?

Thanks for that. So the rule was initially only two players for the veterans allowance. Although that article was written in 2003, it does clearly say you can place more veterans, just that their % decreaes as there are more veterans. Isn't specific as to exactly what percentages would be used.

Thanks for the link Shadow.

we don't have any official veterans this year. both harvey and thompson were on the main list.

Imagine Milney saying that ...

"wookie wuck" ... :p

Long-Term Injury List:
Brendon Goddard (knee)
Michael Gardiner (foot)

Promoted Rookies:
Jayden Attard
Clinton Jones

As MSG explained, Jones was on the main list for Hamill, but Sammy has since been brought back to play again ... so Jones stays on the main list but for Gardiner this time.
