Question: when did Jason H become the number 1 pick by some margin according to Fox footy “special” comments frauds?

So, we are short if North bid?
So, we are short if North bid?
It’s North though, you never know what those arse mongers might do.Given the media hype surrounding Horne Francis, I reckon there’s no chance they do.
That’s before you even consider the public perception of knocking back the Crows offer for pick 1, just to bid on a kid they can’t get anyway.
Earliest is pick 2… I’m still hoping it’s pick 3 (or 4).
Horne is apparently the reincarnation of Garry Ablett senior only better, he’s that much better than Daicos they shouldn’t even be in the same draft according to norfolk. It’s North though, you never know what those arse mongers might do.

Hey do you see N Daicos lining up for us round 1?
If so, where would he play?
Personally I think either wing/HF should be fine, especially HF, since most of the top mids we are seeing have begun their season in their forward line to learn their forward craft before they have to shoulder full time midfield loads.
I agree that his ideal position is easily inside mid.Nick Daicos was at a level this year he could have played round 1.
He has versatility to play elsewhere, but I'm playing him through the midfield in the centre square. His movement and evasion in traffic is special, so that's where you're getting the most out of him. For perspective, his numbers are superior to Sam Walsh and Bailey Smith with far heavier scoreboard impact at the same age and stage. So he's ready to go.
You could rotate Daicos across half-forward, but inside midfield play should be his main go.
I don't see any particular benefit to playing him on the outside. Josh should play on the outside, you've got Sidebottom and you've got Poulter. They're the outside mids.
Daicos, Lipinski and Macrae are the new names at centre bounces I want to see this year for heavy minutes.
I agree that his ideal position is easily inside mid.
I just think due to his slim frame, you probably don't want to expose him to AFL physicality just yet. Also taking a long term perspective, now is the only time when he can focus on improving forward craft without major midfield responsibilities. And if he were to become a top 5/top 10 midfielder in the comp, he probably needs to add this aspect of his game as well.
Also it could be a coincidence but, Brownlow medalists and top 3 mids in the comp generally start their careers in the forward line, as later on it can be hard to ensure midfield performance + learn a secondary role. If you think about Dustin Martin, Marcus Bontempelli, Christian Petracca, Nathan Fyfe, Gary Ablett, Patrick Dangerfield and for us Dane Swan, Dayne Beams and Steele Sidebottom, they all became the players they are today due to that apprenticeship in the forward line.

This is literally just factually incorrect.Ummm...think you're drinking your own Coolade here just a tad....
Patrick always played as a mid.....he rested forward but he was always a starting MID.
So too Fyfe, Bont and Martin. They all rested forward but started as mids
Swanny started off as a HBF before he developed his tank but just kept finding the ball and Sidey was a wingman although many people wanted him to play forward due to his 10 goal game in the under 18's final.
About the ONLY ones from your list that started their careers as forwards would be Petracca (coming after a knee injury), GAJ (who just wasn't fit enough early on to play as a starting mid, and Beamer who was a kid trying to get a midfield possie at the expense of Swan and Pendlebury...
If Nicky Daicos is as good as we all think he might be....stick him in the guts with JDG and McCrae and Adams. Don't try and hybridise another rare talent by making him play as a small forward.

Football supporters aren’t rational they’re emotional they’re emotional. I like your suggestion though would have saved us from the Scharenberg, Sier, Mclarty years.Quickly on the number thing I’ve never understood people getting wrapt up in it, but it does make me wonder why we chose to go with the earliest pick from the previous year over the best first year player from the previous year. In both cases you’re providing the same sense of privilege to wear that number and it’s a nice little reward, but the kicker is giving it to the Harry Collier medalist increases the chances of the nostalgic amongst us seeing 35 in the seniors more often…
