Fascinating to see what they do if they can't come up with 4 "replacement" games. I would expect the ACCC to take a very dim view of advertising one thing and not being able to provide it. Can't say I have much sympathy for the club given they took out the shotgun and aimed it carefully at their own feet before firing.

Fancy scheduling North Melbourne vs Melbourne in Hobart.

Talk about taking the piss.

Meanwhile we play interstate teams in Melbourne.

Nah, nothing suspicious going on here. Move along. Shut up and buy a membership etc etc.

My mistake. Give me a 7 game membership without the 11 game price tag*

Yep. I mean, I can afford them but end of the day it is better for the club and my pocket if there are 2 x 7 game reserved memberships rather than my one with some extra cost on top IMO. With a 7 game membership I might be able to pay for my son's to be an adult membership and take a friend along if he can't make it or the time isn't great for an 8 year old. We're stronger as a club IMO if we have 3 x reserved seat members of 7 games rather than 2 reserved seat members of 7+4 games. Cost may be the difference for many.

Yeah but Funkys Carls and Full of Bull Heaths outraged at being questioned. :stern look

My decision to not renew 2 reserved seat memberships is vindicated. I will now pick and choose games I want to watch. 17 years of blind support was ignored by the club.

I’ll dispute it. Brisbane have 400k supporters Collingwood 600k. (See Morgan report above) If Collingwood have more supporter in Qld than Brisbane then they have **** all in Melbourne,

Your facts are shit.
My facts are people i know there are more Collingwood supporters in Queensland that Brisbane lions ones.Because it doesn't suit your arguement dont slag other people off

Yeah, your sample size is much better than Morgans :stern look.

I’ll slag you off because not only do you come on to our board sprouting absolute shit, you write like a drunk.

Holding one in each hand.

Absolutely astounding.

I actually find this situation laughable. The club obviously knew it was going to sell off another game to Tassie, and even if it didn't until late in the year, you would of thought discussions would have already taken place with every single Melbourne based club regarding the issue of replacement games. Then when the fixture is announced they would already have an idea of what the other Melbourne clubs position is on replacement games. And if the our club cant come to some sort of agreement with other Melbourne clubs, I believe the right thing to do is simply refund that portion of the membership cost if they cant actually make it happen. As you have stated you cant offer a product for a price and then not provide it. It's like the club has said, lets wait for the fixture and then worry about it.

I am no business expert and I might be a little naïve thinking it is that easy, but maybe its not just on the field that the club has no Plan B.

If they have no agreement with the AFL regarding away teams / scheduling and no ability to know either way they should simply be offering a 7 game membership. End. Of. Story.

They will offer 4 replacement games, at least one of those (dogs) will have a seating bay for reserved seat holders, one other game (blues) probably will have something similar, who knows with pies. The Essendon game will be a replacement game, with no seating for our members.

Did the math yesterday, because of the Mother’s Day annual shit show, if I were to purchase memberships for me and the kids, it would cost me upwards of $220 to get in to the 6 home games that are left.
I will purchase basic, non attending memberships for the kids, get Foxtel, and watch the games at home this year.

You guys moaning about 4 games in Tasmania a short flight away if you are that keen, Go Dees are playing 2 games in the Nt which is a bloody long way away.Smaller clubs have no choice but to play these games to survive and could be argued that Melbourne are not a small club but still need to do that.
Need to face reality the Collingwoods Carlton Essedons of the comp have a great advantage over North because purely the number of supporters even in Qld the most popular team is Collingwood no idea why but is an undisputable fact.

We have to accept we have lost the club. The decision has been made to collocate. P.ss off members in Melbourne, more games in tassie and the future is obvious.

I'm as anti-Tasmania as anyone here but I don't understand what is suspicious about this? No-one ever said the Hobart games would be exclusively against interstate teams. Every season that we have played in Hobart has involved at least one Victorian team. What is the conspiracy that you are imagining?
