Has anyone watched the promos for Dancing With the Stars? Everyone seems to get their name and claim to fame flashed on the screen towards the end of the ad, but Mia Fevola's name is displayed for not even half a second. Is someone in the Channel 7 editing team a Carlton hater, or maybe not a fan of the Fevola name? I must admit that I had to google Mia's name to discover why she is allegedly a star.

Watching the Tour de France,
Question, why are their wizzers always oriented to the left side ?

Tearing down the Nicholson st hill all those years ago, I was never aware where it was tucked !

Hmmmm... Monsieur dresses left.

Perhaps because he is right handed?

I'm really enjoying watching Matthew Boyd playing this year. And even Ben Brown.

Starting pitchers for the Chicago Cubs. ⚾

Melbourne Vixens have won the Super Netball Final over West Coast Fever in a surprise 59-58 result.

Tim English's partner Rudi Ellis plays for the Vixens. Hope it inspires him!!

Well done Vixens.

She was awesome.
Imagine how tall their offspring are going to be.

Bruce McAvaney is no doubt the GOAT of commentators. His commentary at the world athletics championships is just brilliant.
David Basheer and Tamsyn Lewis are pretty knowledgeable and nicely understated in the way they go about it too. They are light years from the drivel and hype we get in AFL coverage.

There were a few contenders for dickhead of the World Athletics Championship but my vote goes to Pedro Pichardo (representing Portugal, but originally from Cuba) who won the Triple Jump with a great clutch effort on his final go. It was a terrific effort and he was understandably excited, but he was so self-obsessed that he kept saying "who's the best baby?" (and nothing else) to any person or camera near him for about five minutes.

There had been a fairytale result in the offing when outsider Andrea Dallavalle of Italy pulled out a great triple jump on his last attempt, moving him from out of medals contention into the gold medal position. He was pipped by the last jump of the event - Pichardo's.

As Pichardo was strutting around shouting "who's the best baby?" Dallavalle put out his hand to congratulate Pichardo. Pichardo barely acknowledged him as he brushed past with a no-look perfunctory touch of hands.

I guess when you're the best you can get away with that sort of behaviour. Baby.

Geelong (Football League) are viewed as the most successful club in the past 19 years with four premierships, seven Grand Finals and 14 Prelim Finals. That's painfully good.

Believe it or not, Melbourne Storm is slightly ahead of Geelong Football League's achievements.

Since 2007:

Premierships:

Storm: 2007, 2009, 2012, 2017, 2020 (5)
Cats: 2007, 2009, 2011, 2022 (4)

Grand Final (Runner Up):

Storm: 2008, 2016, 2018, 2024 (4)
Cats: 2008, 2020 (2)

Prelim Finals (All):

Storm: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023, 2024, 2025 (15)
Cats: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025 (14)

Finals missed:

Storm: 2010 (0)
Cats: 2015, 2023 (2)

Storm eclipse Geelong Football League in every category. For the purpose of this exercise, if we're counting all of Geelong Football League's successes then we should be counting all of Melbourne Storm's successes too. I.e. 2007 through to 2010. Storm only missed finals in 2010 because they weren't allowed to accumulate premiership points throughout the year. Despite not having as much motivation as their opposition, knowing they weren't playing for points, they still managed to end the season with a 14-10 win loss record which would have seen them finish 5th.

Then there's that incredible record where the Storm has never lost a round one match under Craig Bellamy. The last time the Storm lost a round one match was in 2001. To put that in perspective, the Twin Tower World Trade Centre attacks hadn't happened yet.
