Oh I'm at Box Hill TAFE forgot that for some reason o_O If you study there you have to like Asian food :D
Nah I'm at Deakin myself. But do go past there with the bus from Box Hill when I go to Deakin. The buses certainly at Box Hill are very infrequent as you would think during uni semesters and workdays they would run more.

Is it just a thing where I live, or is everyone being inundated with left-wing dribble on social media tonight?*

*I don't have a political stance myself, the left are just more vocal and thus annoy me.

Depends on your definition of left-wing and dribble.
Also with the disgrace of a budget just handed out you'd expect a few pinkos* to have their knickers in a knot.

*I agree with most left-wing principles but not the way most lefties go about expressing (or overexpressing) those views.

Yeah, agree with you on both counts there.

I don't have any leaning towards a party but I'm just at a point where people expressing their own political opinions causes me frustration, there seems to be no detailed analysis, rather just criticism of a person's manner or traits and no basis for that criticism other than a leaning towards the opposite end of the spectrum. I agree in theory with a lot of left wing principles but don't believe in their ability to put it into practice (haven't been a fan of the work of a couple of Labor governments).

In the context of my previous post, dribble refers to threats on Abbott's life, enormous exaggerations pertaining to the changes to our education, healthcare and welfare systems, and such in depth analysis as 'we're ******' - most of which has been spewed from unemployed-of-their-own-accord university students with rich parents. I'm not happy with the budget at all either, but prefer not to engage in the Abbott/Liberal bashing between pseudo-intellectuals pumping up each others' tyres.

I've always felt party allegiance is pretty stupid. Up until now (Abbott government being a strange outlier) they've basically been like the debate between the clones on Futurama, arguing over the tiny differences in their respective policies, while ignoring how exactly the same they are. Also politics is all about ignoring the issues and ad hoc-ing each other to death.

Also I've been of the opinion for years that people confuse Labour (we're Australian bring back the 'u') and left-wing too much, as much of their policy seems to be more centre-right. Actually I can't really think of much they have done recently that can be considered a left-leaning policy. Seriously, help me out here?

Yeah that sucks, and I'm seeing a bit of that on my newsfeed too. What they don't seem to realise is that that sort of bullshit weakens their legitimate points. And as far as poor 'rich' uni students goes, I go to Melbourne uni, say no more (facepalm)...

Brilliant.

The missing U has always gotten at me - wonder what prompted it  I can't help you, it's late :p

I'm only 18, so I get a bit frustrated seeing people I went to school with who typically aren't inclined to comment on political matters having their uneducated say on Facebook or Twitter. It's not that they aren't entitled to it, I'd just prefer they didn't waste everybody's time if they're not going to go into any depth and instead just slander particular names and drum up likes with sensationalist predictions.

Melbourne Uni? You must be neck-deep in it everyday :p I've deferred a course at Monash, I'm not sure how it is having not spent more than a couple of days there but I think it's just a uni thing.

Yeah can entirely agree with you on the Twitter/Facebook analysis. The sad part is I'm 29 and still seeing it! Actually I'm willing to bet the comments you're observing are more literate than the ones I have.
Seriously people don't just tell me we're ******, tell me why. Give me the reasoning, then at least it can be a discussion.

It used to bother me when I was a 17-18 year old undergrad, it felt extremely disingenuous when a guy would rock up to anti full-fee paying or whatever flavour of the month protest in a Porche or BMW, all the while imploring me to stand up for the rights of poor people, by stopping those same poor people from commuting to work by clogging up a major road.
Mind you this was at a university, which at the time had 14 undergraduate science students (not 14%, 14!) enrolled who were from the Western region of Melbourne. I used to think "what the **** do you know about being poor?".
I've since mellowed a fair bit on it as a post-grad, protest has its place and crazy uni lefties are annoying (and universal to all institutions) but really pretty harmless.

14? That's crazy.

I guess things that used to annoy me don't at all anymore - the block function on social media is a wondrous thing - so I'll mellow on it later on, but copping the full brunt at the moment and what gets at me is that it's coming from people I actually like and enjoy the company of.

Knowing some of these people though, I do appreciate the irony of their flavour of the month protesting and whinging about cuts - many of them having been bought cars by their parents, never having worked a day in their life and bashing out their political/sociological rants on a $1600 iMac they didn't pay for.

Since I honestly have no idea about politics, let us discuss a very important social issue: Which is more comfortable, car backseats or car boots?

Now, most sane people would say car seats are more comfortable. But the backseats of cars are usually fairly uncomfortable, I mean you can't rest your head on the back or the side comfortably, in fact you can't rest your head there at all! In fact, you're constantly looking for somewhere to be comfortable and it's a never ending struggle.

Now compare this to car boots, where you can pretty much stretch out if you want, you can find an angle to lie on that's extremely comfortable, or you can just curl up into a ball and lie there.

Most people will go on about "safety" and blah blah blah but in all my years of riding in car boots, and I'm talking sedans here, I have never once been slightly injured.

Therefore, car boots > car backseats and we should put our children in the boot, not in the backseat.

Thus endeth timtamwb's insane ranting of the day.

Not my boot. My mate's boot, which is fairly small, I don't know the make of the car. And for some reason I always have to ride in the boot. Even when it's only 3 people including me in the car...

Once I get past 2am I start thinking of strange things that are not connected to anything.

If we're going off the topic of politics, this clip has first dibs:
And agreed, boots > backseats. Think of the children.
