What he said ^

Deferred my course, so I'll be busier next year. And yet I'll probably find just as much time to bother everyone on here.
You'll find time. I mean at the moment I'm full time for my course, including like being in 3-4 bands and trying to find a job, and I'm still on here just as much as you.

Yes but the point is you're still skinny. I hate people that eat a lot but are skinny. Teach me your ways.

Preferably without doing exercise, or changing my eating habits.
Good luck with that.
No seriously, if you find a way let me know. Seriously!

All comes down to metabolism man. If you eat more meals but with less quantity spread throughout your day it can help with not putting on weight and stuff.

I know it's usually metabolism. Which is the main reason I hate those people, because it's their superior genetics that make them skinnier. I'm already resigned this year down to just maintaining my current weight, because I know with the stress of my last year in my course I'm not going to be able to lose weight. But I have cut out soft drinks, now it's just a matter of cutting out fast food, which I've cut back to once a week maximum. If I go out to get something now, then it's a focaccia/sandwich with some sort of meat that isn't a fried chicken schnitzel. So I'm taking little steps, but I'll go full force at the start of December. Then Christmas Eve/Day can be cheat days :D

They do say it is 80% diet and 20% exercise.
I am one of the lucky ones who can eat anything and everything and not gain weight (for now), but I still watch what I eat every day. You can still eat fast foods and what not in moderation, weight loss in the end ultimately comes down to caloric intake and how much you are burning every day. There is no need to over complicate things when it comes to weight loss I think.

The thing is that I tend to binge eat when it comes to fast food, and when it comes to normal meals I just eat regular portions and that's enough for me. I also need to start exercising regularly, but when I say that, I don't mean crazy amounts. I mean even just 45 minute walks every day would be enough, because I'm not looking to get ripped. I'm just trying to lose the belly. Although I do love a good belly :D

I also need to watch my snacking. He says while an open box of shapes sits next to him.

Just all about that self control then. I know its easier said than done I binge eat heaps as well but I will then go a long time until I do it again like a punishment. Once you get in a routine it works easily and you will obviously get used to it. Same with exercising, I remember hearing something along the lines of that it takes 21 days for something to become a habit so you just need to push through the opening stages until your body allows it and you actually then enjoy doing it.
It doesn't need to be 45 minutes too, just enough to get your caloric intake into a deficit!

yeeeeeah

You mean morning right....oh well, time to get the gear on for another marathon training run.

And for some reason I have the "Ghost" song on the brain...and on repeat on the computer. It's about the 3rd 2014 song to make it to the iPod which is an indictment on modern music.

Do you people sleep? Oh well I can't talk I was up all night with a back deciding that it would imitate the pain of being hit by a Telegraph pole. I hate having a diseased back :(
Sleep is for the weak.

I actually liked my Year 12 books though, which was odd.

I last taught Year 12 English in 1999. I can not remember which novels we read that year. I had two Year 11 English classes and a Year 12 English class my last year teaching to go along with Years 8, 9 and 10 classes in English and S.O.S.E. It's all a blur now. Burnt out at the age of 47.

Mine were a little bit more recent.

The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid and Stasiland by Anna Funder. Both terrific books, thoroughly enjoyed them even though I had to write 10+ essays on each over the course of the year.

You must've enjoyed it to have taught it so much and so often. Most of the teachers I've had were pretty passionate.

Great book, very interesting and informative. I think I would have liked it more if I was to read the English version instead of the German version that we had to use...

I only remember one of my year 12 books, and that is A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway. It's honestly just boring, it doesn't grab your attention and kind of reminds me of a monotone speaker talking about their life.

It is, isn't it. Funder writes beautifully, she has a fantastic ability to keep you hooked while still maintaining the ruthless attention to detail.

I might read it again soon. I think I owe it that much, I got fantastic marks for my essays on it in Year 12 and I'd like to go over it without feeling the need to stop to write down notes and quotes.

Shudder. At least by the time I was in Year 11, they were bothering to pick stimulating, interesting and informative books that were relevant to our other subjects and the curriculum as a whole. Not that most of the class noticed, of course, instead choosing to make racist remarks about the lead characters before folding up their unmarked piece of lined paper into a paper plane, hitting someone in the head with it and cracking a 9/11 joke. Ahh, high school.

Now that you've read it in English, you owe it to her to read it in the native tongue, German. It's actually not too difficult.

I had 2 books throughout high school that were actually any good. The Messenger by Markus Zuzak and Mimus by some random guy. It was year 8, that was 8 years ago and now I feel old :( And if it wasn't obvious before, it is now very obvious that you went to a public high school :D

I might give it a shot. I find Germany fascinating and plan to pick up the language, so it's a start.

Year 8 was 5 years ago for me, and I vividly remember English class. Admittedly, I was one of the paper plane kids back then, but in my defense, my teacher was a ****ing moron. She'd find inane tasks for us to complete that had no relevance to the topic or exams and then spend all her time on Twitter and a variety of other bullshit, now long defunct social media sites.

Guilty as charged :p I came out the other end with an ATAR of 85.20 and my dream uni course though, so I can't complain too much.

Start work in mid afternoons, so makes sense to sleep all morning and wake up at lunchtime particularly with footy season and career now done. Plus for me there's considerably less traffic to deal with at 4:45 AM for training runs.

I wanted to go to sleep hours ago, but instead I watched Year of the Dog. Then I started watching Kate Micucci live performances on Youtube, then a bunch of music videos, and now I'm back on here. Who needs sleep?
