I think the rumour thing is crap.

I expect Carr to replace Rozee - probably with JHF. He is the softest, prettiest captain that team has ever had. He was a poor choice. Port Adelaide historically have hard men as captain. Russell Johnson, Ebert, Bucky Cunningham, Mark Williams and more recently Primus, Boak and Cassisi (ordinary player but tough).

Rozee is a disgrace and I would hate him as captain. Love seeing the crows forwards manhandle him after we score a goal and absolutely rag-doll him. He is so so soft (and pretty). Can’t imagine Rozee wants to leave the state though as on a helluva long contract

Kinda long post for you to mention how you think Rozee is hot, my dude

Tend to be surprised when WA greats retire, their game tally always seems low compared to how long they’ve seemed to be around. Look at McGovern, has looked like he’s playing his last season for 3 years and is medically retired, checked games played when heard, didn’t make 200. Would have put money on it being between 250 and 300.
Didn't make his AFL debut until he was 22, currently 33 and has spent quite a bit on the sidelines especially in later years.

I think they selected him because they dont really have the options. Rozee is probably the best they have that exhibits all the qualities to be a leader. JHF and Butters are great lead by example leaders but they really shit on their team mates and are not thought of highly in leadership roles. Like at all. Wines from what I know is fantastic off field but he isnt really a great on field leader.

But Port have a massive divide. They have a group of elites that appear to be the ones that rule the roost and then there is the rest. In comparison you feel Adelaide is more cohesive right down the squad, there doesnt appear to be the us and them mentality between the stars and the rest. But right now Port have issues.

Being able to read and write would obviously help as well

I am worried all that travel might affect him in later years

the amount of modern day players banking games now, no doubt is indicative of the improvement in game time management, sports science training systems and improved injury management and fitness standards. Before players were freaks now I suspect 400 to 500 games will become a regular occurrence with the elites. and the freaks may end up pushing 40 yo.

Curtin could be a classic example of someone who plays a running game until they reach that 30yo mark and then he can retire forward, bulk up and be a key forward for several years. Extending that career well beyond 30yo.

Interesting to see who actually puts their hand up for this or if it will be a Mickey mouse type event

Like would Curtin make WAs side?

Has to be done right. I suspect the AFLPA have probably already spoken to the players about it to get the consent and to discuss the terms and conditions around the games.

The first year most will put their hand up so its something they can have on the resume but interest will drop off in future years.

Reckon the timing is right, if they get selection right, it could be big. I don’t really give a shit if Dawson, Rankine and TT miss a February continuity builder against Port to play in SoO. I’d even add an extra game, 2 states play to challenge the champion. And sad as it is, if you’re not from SA, WA or VIC, no SoO for you.

I love the argument that he was just "steadying his balance as he fell". You know, the way you steady yourself by putting one hand down, then curling it upwards towards your opponent's groin and gently poking it in, then removing it with seemingly no balance issues whatsoever.
On watching the video, it looks to me as if the Lizard's hand was rather close to the offender's groin region when he was standing over him immediately before. Could it be that this butt tweak was a response?

Sad that injuries cut his prime shorter than it should've. He already had an incredible career, but he was on track to being one of the all-time greats.

i said to the missus Saturday night, he was going to retire after he swapped guernseys with Boak after the game
