I must thank you FullyBigKPro for providing those wonderful quotes from Ken in the presser yesterday 😂

Now I must confess… in a past life I did spend a bit of time lurking around on their board, circa 2009-2010 when the Williams regime came tumbling down and the start of the abandonment of their club (going to games etc.). What can I say, I felt sorry for them (that won’t be a mistake ever repeated I can guarantee).

What was interesting is how much they had turned on/hated Williams. This being their only premiership coach who had their club as one of the best in the league for a number of years. The vitriol and savagery was an eye opener.

They were so happy to get an outsider Ken in. And now here we are. Back to wanting “true Port” people at the club.
Why on earth would anyone in their right mind want to go there when they see how the supporters behave. The next coach will come in (whoever it is) and be savaged after a while. And so the cycle will continue.

They don’t know what they want. To be “true Port” or “half Port” or leave “port” in the SANFL and forge their own path in the AFL. What a sad, confused lot. Tragic really…

😂

Brilliantly said - The Primus exit was also another exhibit in white-anting savagery.

I love how this is their mainboard :$ :$ :$ :$

No, you need two. Otherwise Hawkins gets double teamed. Plus Danger is better at an overhead mark compare to Hawkins.
Double team when Dangerfield is playing forward?? What are you talking about since the opposition's next best tall defender will be busy defending Dangerfield and can't double team Hawkins.

Too much running for their older players, Dangerfield was already cooked in the 4th quarter. They need to play him as a forward toward the end of his career and kick 50 goals, stupid list management to trade for Cameron which cost them 3 1st rounder (although they were late 1st rounders and they do get a 2nd rounder back) when they could have outbid the Saints for B.Crouch, play Dangerfield as a forward and give anyway none of their 1st rounders allowing them refresh their list on the run.
Hmmmm. Not quite sure about that.
Did you really just say that recruiting Jeremy Cameron on a five year deal is a bad thing?

I understand the cost of the deal but recruiting a gun Coleman medalist will always be expensive. The cat's are playing, recruiting and list management for results right now, not in the future when the first rounders come good.

Here's the choice for a top 4 team.
Brad Crouch and three kids.
Or...
A Coleman medalist.

I don't know if it will work out for the cat's but the list management decisions have been spot on for their current position in their cycle.

But those are 3 1st rounders to rebuild their list, there's no doubt they bought him over to try and get a flag last year and this year before Hawkins/Dangerfield/Selwood struggle with their form, however, they are currently in no-man land right now and Dangerfield's output forward will be as impressive as Cameron. Cameron is a more accurate set shot but both are as good in the air (Dangerfield is slightly better) and equally as good on the ground and on the lead.

They are very much caught in the middle

If they don’t win it this year - and they won’t, because Port will, just ask Kenny, he’ll tell you - then they will have to start rebuilding next year, surely

Its the absolute pure arrogance of Scott, keeps backing in all these old 'stars' yet they always fail on the big stages.

I am exactly correct. They cannot double team Hawkins with Danger deep and Cameron as high half forward.

I love Danger as a player but I can't agree with you about Cameron vs Dangerfield being equal as forwards.

I know who I'd choose in our forward 50.

Geelong are in no-mans land with their list approach

They keep trying to squeeze the lemon, yes they are competitive, yes they might play finals but they are getting no closer to a premiership

They've been in this position for years now.
But Dangerfield, Hakwins and Selwoods' still playing
So their supporters are happy
Scott's happy,
Their recruiters happy because he never needs to select anyone
They're just a happy club making finals down at Geelong

Not sure everyone is that happy at Geelong ...

I just think it’s funny, Hinkley has been trying for 10 years for no result, Scott won one by taking over a premiership team but has spent the next 9 years not winning one..

Meanwhile Melbourne have been the epitome of a sh** team for years, and Goodwin is no one’s idea of an obvious next big thing as a coach - all of a sudden they’re playing an amazing brand of football and seem to have no weak links, win a flag and are unbackable favourites for another one

Hinkley Scott etc must get together over a Coke Zero and say “Simon Goodwin?? SIMON FECKIN GOODWIN??!!” 😄😄

Did you not read my post?
You can if you’re actually competing for the ball, frost didn’t.
And that is the issue with that ruling.

You could argue any marking contest that is 2 v 1 there is a block.

I get the obvious ones. But in that instance the umpire can not be certain Frost was intentionally blocking.

I know who I'd choose in our forward 50.
You've clearly underestimated Dangerfield as a forward, he started there for us and I always thought he would be one of the best forward in the competition had he played in that position.

The arms out instantly being 50m is going to ruin games, every club needs to immediately identify who does it most often and sort the habit as it will cost teams games.

I thought Tex pushed the boundaries a couple of times. It really looked like someone who is 3 weeks behind in making the adjustment.
