Any Crows fan with a brain would have been wishing we'd won another spoon in 2021.

If we managed to lose to North in the final round and landed Pick 2, we would have even been in a better position to negotiate Pick 1 from them.

Underrated reply. :thumbsu:

Its exactly the way I responded when I read the Port posters post on here, I just couldnt think of an appropriate reply, you nailed it.

It conveys everything, without the need for a rebuttal.

Goodfellas is a classic.

Tbh I don't think North were ever going to trade pick 1.

So even in an interview about his team continuing to not fullfill their expectations of their season (finals), and the promise of their season ahead...Ken still needs to be thinking about the Crows... It's all just BS down there...

"The players didn't need to be isolated and sent out away and feel like it was only them that wasn't quite right", Hinkley said.

I can only assume that was a shot/reference to the Crows GC camp.... Idiot.

That may very well be true, but it's still a fact that he resigned even if it was just jumping before he got pushed. If I'd said he missed finals twice before getting sacked then it would have been outright factually wrong.

Reality is that we don’t get the ‘facts’. Lots of people that resign in the AFL industry are sacked but there’s mutual benefit in fronting a presser and saying they’ve agreed to part ways. If you said Neil was sacked you’re just as likely to be factually correct as you are factually wrong. What is said in public isn’t always what’s happened behind the scenes.

Port lived exactly up to expectations when they were torn apart in a Prelim Final.

They are top 8 team that masqueraded as Top 4 team courtesy of a worldwide pandemic that has ripped the world apart in the past two years, where they got to play opposition teams at neutral venues when it was their turn to host away games.

They beat just one Top 8 team at an Away venue in 2021, that too with IIRC a goal in the last minute of play.

A cynic might say this is a convenient extension of a 3 year contract that was front ended to secure a first round compo pick and ensure no matching occurred, and the agreement was actually always a 5 year deal.

FA deals shouldn't be able to be extended / changed until the last year of the contract IMO.

If it’s been extended at a lesser rate then if the AFL are true to their word, they’ll be investigating and sanctioning.

I wonder if we had pick 2, would we still have gone for Rachele.

Couldn’t even tell you who went picks 2-5 without looking them up. I suppose there was the father sons.
Maybe Finn Callaghan but I doubt we'd have gone with Mac Andrew over Rachele, I think we'd settled on Josh a fair way out knowing Callaghan would go to either GWS or GCS.

I'm no port hater, but Ken has smugness well beyond his output. He's the same every year.

Well no if you take on board the whole club, we have a womans team that have won flags too so as a club its multiple flags to 1 flag. Whilst port went after the chinese market, the crows were winning AFLW flags here

Port wanted a women's team but neither SA clubs were getting one until the genius NT move was deployed, which forced the AFL's hand.

Stuff about us trading Brad Crouch to the Suns, then the AFL getting shitty with us about us and the Saints working on various side trades around the Brad Crouch free agency.
Yeah. All true. The alarming but for mine is the Suns trade block.
