Why would you say that?

Probably the family connection.

Media does work a bit like that as we know

I feel you almost need to look at these types of trades in three parts with the key part being you can win the first part and lose the second.

1. What the actual picks ended up being
2. If the team turned those picks into other picks/assets

3. The recruitment of players.

First Step:

Carlton received pick 18 (2018) and pick 11 (2019)

Adelaide received Pick 4 (2019).

Fair to say that's a win for Adelaide.

Second Step:

Adelaide turns Pick 4 into Pick 6 (2019) and Pick 11 (2020). I think that's a win for Adelaide.

Carlton turns Pick 11 (2019) and steaknives into Picks 17 (2019) and 20 (2019). I think that's a win for Carlton.

For the recruiting side:

Carlton gained Stocker, Brodie Kemp, Sam Philip

We got McAsey and Pedlar.

And only time will tell..

So from a pick and list management stand point Adelaide came out ahead. We gained a pick 11 in 2020 and lost a pick 11 in 2019 which is a wash -but turned pick 18 into pick 6 which is a massive win.

Now it all comes down to the recruiting and developing teams and we won't know who won this for years.

The winner at the trade table is already determined, it's us. Talent ID and and development is irrelevant to the trade winner. If you swap 1 for 44 you've lost the trade even if you select Sloane and they select Watts.

Where have you heard he’s requested a trade?
From within your club.

A guy I work plays pokies/drinks at The Port Club as he lives local and is a massive old time Port supporter. He reckons it is the word down there. He told me in June Schoefield was going to WCE.

Asked to be traded, but is contracted so Port said no. But he is genuinely homesick.

it does have the whiff of the unvaccinated though

Hasn't turned up for preseason training for undisclosed reasons. Rumours of anti vax but just that right now.

Sorry to intrude, but yeah the “anti-vax” topic is fairly sensitive to some and does create some difficult conversations whatever side of the line people fall on.

Smith has spoken alot, much more than any other current footballer about struggling with mental health, everyone knew about his struggles before he even got drafted so I think this leave is probably genuine, and we as supporters and as a board should respect that.

Yes. He copped a lot of criticism (including from me) for saying he didn't want to be drafted outside Vic, but maybe that was a genuine concern - even though it maybe hasn't helped.

He's a genuinely talented and exciting player, I hope he works through this.

I think Hey Shorty needs to have a good look at himself. Warren Garry is a great guy who doesn't deserve to be abused for his medical beliefs.
Did Tredrea ever get stuck into us about our camp?
If he did, he is a hypocrit.

Camp being run with the same Pseudo Science mindset that cost him his media jobs.

Surely he could still do radio. They'll lose a lawsuit if he goes down that path. Easy to eliminate risk without vaccine mandate for radio. Simply won't fly under fair work or WHS legislation.

Depends on whether the studio requires you to be vaxxed.

No, they can't unilaterally add a condition to his contract any more than he can add a zero to his salary. The only way that can happen is via government mandate which overrides employment contracts. To change existing contracts employers need to use WHS legislation, which we've just seen BHP fail at. FWA put out an advisory months ago saying that workforce wide mandates will likely be unenforceable. This is because controls under WHS laws require consultation and risk analysis to determine controls.

If Tredders doesn't need to be in the studio then the risk to other AA employees is zero and therefore any further control is uneccessary. Very different risk analysis for those that regularly interact with others though. And that's what BHP now need to do. They need to run a proper risk analysis on each different risk group. Mandating vaccinations isn't something that can be done from the CEOs desk. The BHP failure has proven what was obvious from the beginning.

I guess he could test it in the courts.
