All I can say about watching Warnie was this ... he was one of those players that you'd put the call out when he was bowling. "Warnies bowling!" would echo around my house and everyone would pile towards the TV. Even if they didn't watch cricket. He was mesmerising.

He was loved by so many that knew him well, and so many more that wish they did.

Why? EVERYONE is entitled to an opinion. I am entitled to mine. Now just let it drop.
Maybe Jen, you need to pick your audience and your time to drop your entitled opinion into a discussion like this a couple of days after the death of an Australian icon (that is what he is whether you agree or not)?

I'm sure you mean no malice or want to be seen as being insensitive, but that is how it is looking from the other side of your posts on this.

Oh for goodness sake.

Oh for goodness sake.
Really? So you cannot extend your thinking beyond your current internal voice telling you to win the argument on BF?

If someone came in to our board two days after Walsh died and said they thought it was "all being blown out of proportion - I mean - he's only a footy coach for goodness sake" ... would you been in the same frame of mind?

Show some emotional maturity. Some empathy. It's ok to say "sorry, I wasn't thinking about how others might have been feeling". If you would rather "I don't care about how anyone else is feeling" ... then expect some well deserved backlash.

I’m not trying to win a ****ing argument. I was asked why i felt the way I did. this Is ridiculous.

also, where did I say this is blowing out of proportion? Where did I say he is only a cricketer?

Definitely. I have no issue with a respectful debate, if people think differently.

Freedom of speech.

JHF aside, I think some predictions of North jumping up the ladder are premature. Gaps everywhere in their list
They were much like us in 2020 last year. Non-competitive early but had a stronger finish to the season and won 3 games. However, they are still very much a work in progress and will take a few years to get there. Still very much a bottom 4 side.

Josh Ward's performance yesterday and Nick Daicos today in midfield suggests that some of these Vic lads who didn't get to play much are going to accelerate at a rapid rate in the AFL system. JHF looks like he's playing the same as he did at South.

JHF is going to be a very good player, he's no issue.

North's forward line is very bad and their defense not much better. And for their supposedly strong midfield they have very little in the way of outside runners and ball users

DUDE, I just don’t think State Funerals should be a thing… period. It’s not about who is worthy and who isn’t. Clearly, not everybody follows cricket. Or Footy. i Just think our priorities are skewed, is all. Too much emphasis on sporting “heroes and legends” (terms greatly overused).
Just Curious do you understand Why we have State Funerals,
Because some of what you have written leads me to think you do understand the reason why.
And before you answer remember we are talking about an Australian State Funeral, Not a British one.
"In Australia, state funerals have reflected how ‘ordinary’ people can achieve greatness and allowed the nation to express their thanks and pay tribute in a very personal way"

Matt Crouch is not on the same level player wise. He is well below.
Crouch is an All Australian and a Best and Fairest winner.

There are some better than him on that list, but not all.
