Look guys and gals ... ALL players that have value should be taking shorter term deals early on to maximise their income.

Saying "that takes them up to free agency doesn't it" is becoming the most obvious observation you can make.

Our players will do the same, it's how you get paid.

Butters is a very very good looking prospect. Rozee is a player I don't love, but is definitely a good chance of getting much better over the next few years.

I'd put Georgiades and Jones up with Butters as most impressive youngsters on the Pear list. I also think Drew is underrated of those in the next age bracket. Not huge on Duursma or Marshall.

Its absolutely foolish for the Suns to think this is a win of any type.

If he didnt do his ACL, he would be in Victoria at the end of this year.

Dont be surprised if he doenst play for the Suns again either. He will delay his comeback as long as possible.

I still think from the players perspective, Butters is doing the right thing with his contact. I can see an argument for Rozee trying for a longer term deal.

Players get injured too. Milera and even Andy Otten spring to mind.

Ok I have a new point of discussion

I just saw Tom Brady has announced his comeback to the NFL (I didn't even realise he had retired) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In the article I read, I stared for a few seconds at the black under-eye paint on Tom's face, which I believe is more common than not in the NFL.

A little Google of this tells me that it is to reduce glare, however the effectiveness is not proven. MythBusters apparently cane to the conclusion that it provides very slight reduction in glare for athletes wearing a hat/helmet.

running around this year in goggles, NBA players occasionally wearing face protectors (most notably Rip Hamilton, but also for a short time, Joel Embiid l, and I believe LeBron), I realised that we don't get tooooo funky in AFL, and I have never seen a player wear under-eye black.

With the increase in players following American sports, how long until we see a player run out with under-eye black? I'm surprised we haven't seen this happen before, given it is so prevalent in a other elite sport, and could conceivably help with Night game 'glare'.

Also, what is the most unusual attire / protective equipment worn by a Crow in our history? Besides the odd glove or long sleeves, I can't think of any. I'm sure there's been a crow wear a helmet before, but has there been any other unusual pieces of uniform / protective gear?

Yeah, Jones definitely did for many games.

Some others did for a while too, but Deano was the only one I recall persisting with it.

I can't remember Jarman doing it, but I do remember Jim Stynes wearing a baseball cap in the early 90s in a Fosters/Ansett Cup game (I think it was against Brisbane), it only lasted a quarter until one of the players ripped it off of his head and threw it into the crowd.

It was one of those WTF moments that you never forget.
